🇨🇳#PRC MARITIME AGGRESSION AGAINST THE 🇵🇭#PHILIPPINES This morning, #China Coast Guard 3306 appeared suddenly off the southern tip of Palawan after running "dark" for nearly 3 days. It briefly illuminated its automatic identification system (AIS) for just 55 minutes before vanishing again. CCG 3306 had spent 10 days patrolling Scarborough Shoal from March 6-16. It then broke off, accelerating to 20+ knots heading SE. By March 17 at 6:57 AM, it was last seen off western Luzon heading south at ~14 knots before going dark. This morning at 5:49 AM CCG 3306 reappeared ~381 nautical miles to the south near Hasa-Hasa Shoal (~8.5°N, 116.6°E) — just 30 NM from Palawan — heading southwest at 10 knots. Seven AIS pings over 55 minutes ... then dark again. The dark operations followed by brief illumination so close to the Philippine mainland seems to have been intended as a message of intimidation directed at Manila. CCG 3306 is a Type 301 Zhaokai-class vessel — essentially a coast guard version of the PLA Navy's Type 054A frigate.

The China Coast Guard (CCG) on Friday drove away Philippine vessels that illegally intruded into China's territorial waters off Huangyan Dao in the South China Sea.

Arguably the worst hot take in geopolitics! Actually, 🇵🇭 should ask if the 🇺🇸 alliance is worth it after fighting & bleeding for you thru TWO WORLD WARS, supporting you in KOREA & INDO-CHINA wars, and now being ONLY ASEAN country standing up to CHINA! You abandoned us in BOTH 1995 & 2012 in SCS! What we got? “On the cheep” aid!? ZERO modern figure jets or warships. Pathetic even compared to tier-3 US partners dealing w/ raftag terrorists! And you wonder why we got Dutertes??? 🫣 Sec @SecRubio can lecture you on this, he got firm grasp of this historical imbalance…

Manila's classy response to PRC embassy's relentless attack on Jay, including this painstakingly long official statement that focused largely on attacking him. Makes my day. 👏🏽

China gave Peru the money to build a new port. Now, Peru is being blocked from regulating the port it built, and it could lose control of it to China. When countries take the CCP’s money they put their own sovereignty at risk. thehill.com/policy/interna…

Remember 🇨🇳 Consul General in Osaka Xue Jian (薛剑)? His name is seen on greeting cards in lunar new year gift packages which the 🇨🇳 consulate general sent to Chinese students in Japan through local chapters of Chinese Students and Scholars Association.

Remarks of the Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines Ji Lingpeng on the Philippine Senate’s Adoption of China-Related Resolution Q: On February 9, the Philippine Senate adopted an anti-China resolution, “condemning” the recent public statements issued by the Chinese Embassy that criticize Philippine officials or institutions. What is your comment? A: We firmly reject and strongly condemn the said anti-China resolution. Some Philippine legislators repeatedly resort to threats and intimidation against Chinese diplomats. They claim they represent public opinion but actually twist facts and mislead the public. The said senate resolution is nothing but a political stunt. What’s truly outrageous and hard to understand is that they would go so far as to condone and support a Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson maliciously smearing and attacking the leader of another country. Put it this way: if a foreign official spokesperson were to insult or attack the Philippine head of state, national heroes, or religious leaders, would they stay silent and pretend nothing happened? They know little about how diplomacy works, yet they dare to undermine the efforts to improve China–Philippines relations by stirring up hatred and confrontation. What they’ve done is for their own political interest. Such behavior only disgraces themselves. However, the price of their hypocrisy, ignorance, and recklessness, is paid by the ordinary people. When it comes to this kind of noise, there are two ways to deal with it. One is to say a firm, loud, and clear “no”, without hesitation, to condemn it and reject it outright. The other is to keep advancing China–Philippines cooperation and exchanges, strengthen understanding and mutual trust, and make those who create the noise irrelevant and unwelcome. We choose both. One more thing: no matter how many anti-China resolutions these people introduce, whether it’s 10 or even 100, it will not in the slightest weaken the Chinese embassy’s resolve to fight the malicious moves against China to the very end. Not a chance.
