Utah’s statewide snowpack for the 2025–2026 season will likely peak at just 8.4 inches of snow water equivalent (SWE)—which would set a new record for the lowest peak on record. With warm conditions ahead, it’s possible we could lose more than 2 inches of SWE by this weekend alone. #utwx

@WasatchSnow Unfortunately this is not much of a surprise the way this winter has been going.

BAD NEWS! Usually, we don't see our statewide snowpack peak until around March 24. However, with an upcoming ridge and accompanying heatwave, I think we've already peaked. If that turns out to be the case, this season's peak statewide mean snowpack will be the lowest on record.

We found a solution to our "no snow in Utah" problem. We've been thinking too narrowly. We need to redefine where in the world "Utah" is.

14" of snow at Alta-Collins from 0.76" of water. That's some good fluff. Meanwhile, Brighton recently dropped a very well-designed snow stake. Well-built and seemingly in a good, sheltered spot.

@WasatchSnow I agree. My welcome home last time I arrived in SLC was a little different.

I love flying into Utah, exiting the terminal, and seeing families welcoming home their missionaries. It's such a distinctly Utah thing and makes me smile every time. Maybe we should make "welcome" signs for potential storms so they know they are home here.

A few showers are possible today. Sunday through Wednesday should feature off-and-on snow showers in the high elevations, but generally, accumulations aren't expected to be overly significant. We are taking baby steps toward winter.

It looks like 2.24” of precip at KSLC today. If correct, this would be the 4th wettest calendar day in SLC’s history. It’s likely we get to #2 with another tenth of an inch. We have an outside chance of reaching the all-time wettest day record if we get another 0.4” or so… #utwx

Alta-Collins would need to receive 146” of snow tomorrow if June is to take the lead as the snowiest month of 2025 thus far.

For the third consecutive Friday, I am going into a storm saying, "it doesn't look that impressive on paper, but it has upside potential, especially in the Cottonwoods." I'm setting my expectations low, but I'm going to be ready to pounce if things come together just right.

@WasatchSnow Today has been amazing. Legs finally said we are done but it’s so hard to listen when it continues to nuke!

I mean, we knew this storm was going to favor LCC, but I really did not see the snow persisting this heavily all day today. 19” storm total and still coming down! One of those times you just shrug and enjoy it.
