We @nppghanahq must use this period in opposition to think deeply and clearly about policy proposals to address the current challenges of Ghanaians.

@THESTATENEWSS Some of you are missing basic logical reasoning here. No one ‘took the fall.’ The evidence was clearly against only one of them. If authorities had solid digital evidence against both individuals, there’s simply no way one could have taken the blame for the other.

Some of you really don't want to see the nation progress because of how much you hate certain politicians. If not lack of patriotism, how could anyone speak against such a project by government especially when the whole world is embracing and integrating various form of AI into their systems.

CASE UPDATE from @FBIWFO: International Car Theft Ring Busted A joint investigation has led to the indictment of six defendants who allegedly stole at least 20 cars and sold them to buyers in the U.S. and Ghana. The indictment follows a year-long investigation into an alleged D.C.-based auto theft ring that used electronic devices to reprogram cars to accept previously blank key fobs. Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the defendants in relation to the theft of more than 100 vehicles. Officers also executed a search warrant this week at an automobile storage facility in Decatur, Georgia, which is suspected to be linked to the auto-theft ring. Learn more about the investigation by the #FBI and its law enforcement partners: justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/int…

The truth is, this simply did not happen. But as of 6:15 am on April 21, 2026, this post has 603K+ views. This is not counting engagement metrics on other social media portals or on the site itself. Nor does it include the number of times screenshots of it have been taken and reshared across the world. The human cost of it has been unimaginable. Nobody that has commented on this, reshared it or condemned this man can ever imagine what this story has done to him and his family. And it could all have been avoided if Clement Kumah and the Fourth Estate had exercised just a little bit of restraint and discerning. Clement Kumah reached out to my Client, Mr. Kpodo, over the weekend to discuss this matter. My Client initially found the whole thing laughable. Why? Well because it’s easy to see how people not at post can receive salaries, because red tape and inactivity can ensure that the news that someone has left or has died or been sacked etc etc doesn't get to Controller & Accountant General on time. So the person’s actual salary will keep getting paid into their account, even though they’re not at post. That happens. It shouldn’t happen, but you can see how it does. On the other hand, the level of collusion that it would have to take for someone to receive each month the equivalent of twenty times the annual salary of a Member of Parliament, undetected for twenty-nine months is so utterly ridiculous that of course you’d think the whole thing was a mad joke. Imagine for a second that you, yes you reading this, were accused of stealing the equivalent of 20 years salary from the company you work at, when you don’t even know how payroll is processed. Imagine how unimaginably stupid such an allegation would appear to you. So the reasonable thing to do, in such circumstances, when something appears outlandish or ridiculous would have been to pause and think that maybe there's an alternative explanation for this. During the conversation, my Client clearly amused by the ridiculousness of the whole thing, said very clearly that it is impossible that such a thing could ever happen because he was paid through Controller & Accountant General. He indicated that he could make his payslips available, if that's what the Fourth Estate needed. After the call, the Fourth Estate sent a follow up text asking that he provide the payslips at his earliest convenience. And following this interaction, he contacted me on the matter, and I asked him to request and submit his bank statements as well. But remember, this was a Sunday, so it would take some time to gather this data. Indeed, the payslips came in at 12:29pm yesterday, and the bank statement was ready at 3:26pm. Fortunately, he had the good sense to record this conversation and part of the conversation is in text as well, so it is time-stamped. Now on Monday morning at 10am, the Fourth Estate publishes this ridiculous hit-piece of an article. And it's not just that they published the article, it's specifically how they did it. Despite the fact that 75% of people never read beyond the headline, at no point in the Twitter post is Mr. Kpodo's denial of the allegations ever mentioned. Yet @fourthestategh is a premium account that had the space to do so. They spend the majority of the article itself building a narrative against him, beginning with the opening three paragraphs which state the allegation as fact. There is no ambiguity, no distancing language, and no attribution framing e.g. “the Auditor-General alleges” in the article's opening. Then they proceed to build the narrative, bringing in "experts" who presume the allegation to be true and speculate based on that presumption that he must have had accomplices. The net effect is that language that reinforces Mr. Kpodo's guilt is repeated throughout the article, so that by the time they introduce his denial, in very sparse terms and at the bottom of the article, saying nothing of the exculpatory evidence which exists, the reader has already concluded on Mr. Kpodo's guilt. And this wasn't an accident. This is exactly what they were going for. Someone at the Fourth Estate concluded on Mr. Kpodo's guilt, decided that for that reason, they would not wait for potentially exculpatory evidence, they would not put the denials to Controller and Attorney General for their response, they would not put the denials to the Audit Service. It simply didn't matter to them that they could be destroying someone's life over a potentially false story; that was a chance they were willing to take. And the evidence of how the publication was understood in context is in the hundreds of quote tweets and replies, which have been posted in response to the publication. It's one thing if Mr. Kpodo was guilty, but just imagine for a second that he's not. Imagine what his young children who are already in the middle of a divorce, have to go through, when they go to school, and they have to face their mates and teachers. All because someone at the Fourth Estate decided that Mr. Kpodo was guilty, and there was no need to do a thorough job to get the full story or represent it fairly. @fourthestategh You have gambled with this man's life and livelihood so carelessly, I hope whatever money you made from this hit-piece is enough to pay your lawyers for the years of litigation you are now facing. Buckle your seatbelts and get them on the phone. It's about to be a very long couple of years for you.

@Woodcoffie56 Why are you surprised by his cunning attitude? During the NPP presidential primaries, he publicly claimed he doesn’t engage in the politics of insults, yet he went ahead to endorse and meet with everyone from his camp who had viciously insulted his opponent. 🤡

@victusdela @Hajjyass70 They couldn’t come out b4 the elections cuz the unimaginable mess their gov left behind had triggered massive public anger. This is the perfect moment to resurface cleverly disguised as ‘holding the current gov accountable,’ when their real intention is to push the NPP’s agenda.
