Souling was a tradition that began in the Middle Ages & took place on November 1st "All Saints Day" 🎃🍂 Poorer folk would go door to door offering prayers for the departed relatives & loved ones of wealthier families 🙏🏻🍂 In return they would be given a Soul Cake and it was believed by some that when the Soul Cake was eaten that a soul would be released from the fires of Purgatory 🔥🍂
