So perhaps the gap here will be closed by both sides meeting in the middle. That would be very good! Almost certainly better for solution cohesion than one side doing all the legwork.

@jburnmurdoch We certainly don't want "influencers" who preach misogyny speaking to both sexes instead of just one.
I mean, sure if you can persuade young women to go back to accepting second class status, that would "bridge the divide" but some cures are worse than the disease.

Where do we go from here? It’s hard to say.
One thing that would help is de-segregating online spaces. If top influencers spoke to both sexes instead of just one, that could begin bridging the divide.
Will this happen? Almost certainly not.

@ProfMarkSherman @jburnmurdoch It's really interesting the level of negative responses here, maybe that is part of the polarisation that is going on, what at face value appears a genuine attempt at explaining the situation is jumped on. If people live on social media and this is the discourse no wonder.

We have the proposed rules from DeWine, and they are bad. Bottom line: This will close clinics, force trans adults off care, has even more draconian restrictions under 21 years old, and creates an extreme surveillance system for trans people.

@BriannaWu @BriannaWu The “book report” is about Swiss Diplomat Carl Lutz (I would’ve made them write a 10 page essay). The kid is 13 years old. He already spent 10 days in Juvenile Detention. He will be receiving 12 months probation and have mandatory counseling.

NewsGuard is about to publish a “report” on misinformation on X. As a for-profit company, they will only share the data that underpins their purported research if you pay. @NewsGuardRating also uses these reports to pressure companies to buy their “fact-checking” services. It’s a profit over any principle model. X has not seen any of the data in their report. Before publishing, we encourage all media outlets to request the data underpinning their claims.
