@MagicPuddingDi PIP at 16, not the point
The parent got PIP before 18
BUt the UC severely disabled child element, child element, Child benefit, and work allowance all end in one fell swoop and the impact is devastating to families.
Can you live on £750 a month, pay rent, bills, carers, eat?

@Oyoyu1 @gabystubbs1 @Dr_Bekka_UK I know I've been under my local CMHT, it takes ages to get an assessment, an age longer to get an appointment.
English

@CatherineMosey @gabystubbs1 @Dr_Bekka_UK You think NHS psychiatrists do anything in a short time?
My CMHT told me they don't care that I'm s*icidal - the trauma therapy I was having (I had the last session the morning before they told me this), would cure my PTSD symptoms and my depression.
Something that's impossible.

Northumberland man took his own life after DWP cut his Universal Credit to £37 | Chronicle Live share.google/AAb8aLuRGdEAB0…
English

@gabystubbs1 @Dr_Bekka_UK He was, he was under a pyschiatrist.
Deutsch

@Dr_Bekka_UK what an awful tragic story , that poor man was up against a rigid , unhelpful system , the DWP if they had looked at it humanely would have realised that £ 37 was going to put that man into destitution. I wish he had been sign posted to MH & other charities , DWP neglected him

@ARandomKaren @MbarkCherguia No, that comes from 52 years of masking.
English

@CatherineMosey @MbarkCherguia 3 years surely is long enough to not be 'burnt out'
English

@cookespies @ARandomKaren @MbarkCherguia I'm currently waiting for an ADHD assessment, I'm struggling with burnout at the moment, about 3 years off until I reach the end of the waiting list. Your comments about parenting are quite insulting.
English

Not disputing genuine ADHD can be hard to live with. Notwithstanding, there are a lot of parents who do not interact with their children and want teachers, social services to do their jobs. Consistency and Boundaries are important. The world has to accommodate but they need to learn to modify too. Many ADHD children never hear the word no. Lots of neurotypical never hear it either and the result of it is easy to see on the streets with feral behaviour.

@ARandomKaren @cookespies @MbarkCherguia I would have thought that in your role as a drug and alcohol advisor you came across lots of people with mental health conditions and ADHD who had addiction issues that had those conditions been treated properly from the outset they would not have developed addictions?
English

@cookespies @CatherineMosey @MbarkCherguia Yes, I agree with you too.
Maybe if we stopped all the bad backs, mental health & naughty children syndromes there would be more to help the real claimants.
English

@ARandomKaren @cookespies @MbarkCherguia I was exagerating somewhat. But it's very hard to get the full amount of PIP.
English

@cookespies @CatherineMosey @MbarkCherguia Paraplegic here .... I can confirm I don't spend all day laying on my back.

@SteveReedMP Steve reed and the anyone who disagrees with me is a racist manouver. This ridiculously cynical bs will not work anymore. Especially give the rampant ableist and anti welfare and discrimination against people in need.

English

@cookespies @MbarkCherguia The car could be for a child, I was a bit over top, but still to get maxium PIP you need help with eating, washing, dressing, communication, well everything really.
English

@CatherineMosey @LiberalSimon @MbarkCherguia If the motability component is used to obtain a vehicle it implies not lying flat in your back unable to do anything. Numerous newspapers have reported on the abuse of the system.
English

@MbarkCherguia She could be taking it to an elderly relative or friend, you can't make assumptions on a little bit of video.
English

@cookespies @LiberalSimon @MbarkCherguia To get that you have to virtually flat on your back unable to do anything for yourself.
English

@LiberalSimon @MbarkCherguia Enhanced rate is 114.60 per week plus enhanced mobility is 80.00 per week. Total 194.60 per week which is £10119.20 per year , paid every 4 weeks. With enhanced mobility there is no road tax to pay on vehicles.

This. I keep saying it’s people who would have retired at 60 or taken early retirement that are too sick to continue working .
Moving the pension age has just shifted the burden. It’s not saved money.
Spin Decoders@leith1076
Only 7% of people on sickness benefits are under the age of 25. Most people in receipt of it are over the age of 50 and have worked most of their lives...which makes the whole "cut benefits to get the young scroungers into work" rhetoric even more absurd.
