Less than 24 hours ago we posted a pipe for sale with Marian artwork carved in bas relief style.
This pipe has received significant attention, and we have been fielding multiple conversations. We would like to share, at this time, excerpts from those conversations, to shed some light on that pipe and those that will follow it.
“…Will be trying to get some done this week. They take a while, multi-process, not the quickest models to make…”
“…but it’s tricky with this antique briar. The reason it all survived this long was minor flaws, so I’m having to work around that to build out the pipes. The upside, old briar performs better…”
“…The one I posted and sold yesterday sat on my desk for a year. I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Keep it? Sell it? It wasn’t perfect, but it was personal. And beautiful.
I decided to try, though it’s a longer process, to make another. Upon completion of a test run last week, (failed in finish but successful in proof of concept), I decided at long last to let the original go, and begin making more. Though, the quantity will be limited by my stash of antique briar. And the replenishment will be a trickle amid the wide array of pipes I work on…”
