@Bowtiedplayer A woman who reacts negatively to conversation about vaccination status gives you all the info you need. She's not a fit.

Dating question for you all, serious note. When would you bring up COVID and vaccination status? Some would say first or second date, and I don't think that's realistic at all and would make you sound like a sperg. This is a hardline for me though and it does need to come up at some point if me and her get more serious. I'm not looking for larp comments on this one. If you're a Roman statue profile pic account or if you're some weird trad Cath account, sit this one out. Serious answers only. The thing is, there are self-identified as conservative, registered Republican girls who nonetheless went ahead and got booster shots. That doesn't work for me. It also doesn't work for me the "oh but I changed my mind later and now see it was wrong blah blah", nah man. Pass. This is one of the qualms I had with NYC. There are some things anyone may need to compromise on a little bit if we're honest, but this isn't one of them. What would you do?

@SolaCatholica @robbertleusink Soil composition did/does affect architecture, but he's comparing Protestant architecture to Catholic architecture...and the differences in design are not primarily motivated by soil constraints.

The Dutch invented their own Gothic architecture because the soil was too soft for the real thing. French Gothic needed flying buttresses and stone vaulted ceilings. The Dutch swampy ground could not bear the weight. So they built lighter: brick instead of stone, wooden barrel vaults instead of stone cross-vaults, simple square towers instead of soaring spires. A distinct tradition built on the constraints of a country that should be on the sea floor. The Dutch did not fight the soil. But designed around it.

A father I spoke with recently said he just wants a good old-fashioned liberal arts education for his kids, but he cannot find one. No ideology. Just deep engagement with great ideas, the expectation that you can defend your position with reason and evidence, and the kind of civil discourse that treats disagreement as an opportunity rather than a threat. That is what we offer. Rationality and civil discourse are at the center of everything we do.

@KarenLorre @_ALgoLoGicAL @grok The body (including eye sight) responds to the beliefs we hold in mind. Letting go of the mind-"realities" frees the body to heal itself. Hawkins' book is part clinical study in the efficacy of this approach and part spiritual manual on how to Let Go.

People think I am an anti-vaxer but actually, I am pro purity. I do this in every area of my life. I stopped eating food that is not organic or regenerative. I never eat medium or highly processed food. I stopped wearing glasses and let my eyes heal naturally. I stopped using regular toothpaste and now use a toothpaste with hydroxiappetite and no fluoride or glycerin. I stopped taking aspirin and use my mind to relieve my pain. I dont use botox or fillers. I dont do plastic surgery. I drink unpasteurized milk. I dont use shampoo anymore and just wash my hair with egg yolks and rinse with apple cider vinegar with the mother. I stopped wearing sunscreen and if I need any protection I use physical protection like a hat. I stopped using detergent in the washing machine and use ceramic balls that ionize dirt. I use a water-filled steamer to clean the floor. I wash the counters with baking soda or vinegar. Sometimes with hydrogen peroxide. I no longer use any fragrances. For face, I use castor oil, or beef tallow or apricot oil, all organic. I stopped wearing foundation. I stopped dying my hair. I use an ethernet cable instead of wifi most of the time. I dont use earbuds, but use a protected headset. I am doing my best to find clothes that are 100% organic regular whole fibers, like linen, wool, silk, and cotton. I sleep on a latex/ wool/ cotton bed, with silk or linen sheets. My pillows are stuffed with wool. I use a whole home water filter, a shower filter, and a drinking water filter. I use a bamboo toothbrush and a boarbristle hairbrush. I use a wooden comb.... I could go on, but in general, I am pro purity. I am happier, healthier and more energized than ever.

Women have two, possibly three, initiation rites in their life. The first is the onset of her menses, where a girlchild becomes a maiden. The second is childbirth, where she becomes a mother. The third is the menopause which she passes through to become a crone. This is why men invented initiation ceremonies. To teach a fish to swim and pretend that man has gained control of the natural world. Like the female process, they often involve blood, pain, and sacrifice. Unlike the female initiation rites, it is men, rather than nature, who dole out the punishment. If men want to haze themsleves in college basments with ketchup and paddle boards, in order to recreate these more ancient and sanctified rites, I won't stop them. I think men should engage in female coded behaviour a little more often.

$LINK $GLNK **Make sure to read my post** Especially for marines I want to be the voice of reason during these tough times. Always remember the asymmetric plays of the past $NVDA $AMZN $PLTR $AMD....had years where they just sat with atrocious price action. Don't let price action break you, thats what they want. Never use leverage, always hold spot and if playing options practice risk management and only put in what youre willing to loose. KNOW WHAT YOU HOLD and don't let anyone break your conviction as long as nothing fundamental has changed about the company. YOU WILL see a lot of flip flop influencers and accounts (even former marines) write bullshit and have breakdowns, IGNORE. Lets take a look at recent developments: -@RobinhoodApp expanding deeper into onchain infrastructure and tokenized markets using @chainlink as the oracle platform -@Polymarket running real time crypto markets powered by Chainlink data -@Arbitrum relying on Chainlink oracles as core infrastructure -@SergeyNazarov sitting on the CFTC digital asset advisory committee -Market structure clarity bill close to passing -Institutional 13F filings increasing exposure -Advisor platforms managing hundreds of billions adding crypto rails -I CAN LITERALLY GO ON AND ON AND ON....not one other comp or crypto has this much going on. -OH and the BIGGEST TAM in the history of capital markets And on my timeline all I see is: • People crying about L1 rotations • Former marines switching sides every week • Influencers pumping whatever moved 15 percent today Chainlink is the only real utility monopoly in crypto. Every serious RWA move touches it. Every serious protocol relies on it. There is no replacement sitting behind it. @SergeyNazarov is running the same slow enterprise playbook as @peterthiel's $PLTR. Quiet positioning. Regulatory alignment. Then violent repricing. Biggest assymetric opportunity in the history of capital markets. I have and will continue to add as much as I can. Mansions, yachts, and Rolls royces will be bought....parties will be thrown. Stay Strong brothas, we will make it.

Huge shout to my friend from an undergraduate philosophy program who started working out every single day, not for health benefits or to become conventionally attractive or whatever, but because -- and this is a direct quote -- he was concerned that otherwise he might "become lost in the world of signs and forget the things they signify". I have thought about this every single time that I've worked out since.

von Neumann gave us "zero-sum" in 1944 and it's one of my favorite examples of linguistic compression. Two words that mean “strictly competitive, fixed pie, stop looking for win-wins.” The term's real gift: it reveals the default human assumption that life is chess and value can’t be created—only transferred. Once you have the label, you start noticing how often that’s wrong

Artifact oddity: Stones carved into "spools" with incised "decoration" excavated at a mound site near the Little Miami River in Ohio. Fowke related that these have been found at several mound sites but only in the same general area of the Little Miami. He also related that no one had put forth an explanation of their purpose. Feel free to comment on their function or purpose. From: Fowke 1901.

Imagine: you pull up in a sleek black Suburban type vehicle. The type of car that makes you look like a fed. You’re mysterious. A little intimidating… You wait for your husband to come open your door… the first thing anyone sees is your stilettoed foot and shapely calf. He takes your manicured hand in his and helps you out. You’re a skinny legend with curves in all the right places due to your home gym. Your hair is a flowing cascade. Everyone’s already impressed… But then you both go to unload your FIVE CHILDREN. They’re well groomed, well dressed, well mannered, but still clearly behave like the children they are, so people are immediately endeared. You walk into whatever event or function you got all dressed up for. People stare. They can’t take their eyes off of you. Its unprecedented. They’re not just staring at a run of the mill power couple. They’re staring at a legacy. And you, it’s matriarch. Family is only low class because it was portrayed that way and American moms took the bait.
Stella@ubiquitousnewt

You can run this thought experiment yourself. Close your eyes and picture the coolest thing you can imagine; the object of envy, the thing that says you’ve made it. Think of what makes people stare, what wins admiration, what marks arrival. It’s sleek. It’s desirable. It sets you apart. Do you picture a baby? Do you see yourself sleep-deprived, smelling of sour breast milk, holding a small wailing creature not yet grown into the world? I doubt it. Though the hormones are flowing, the arrival of a baby is the catalyst for status loss. The mother’s prestige capital, everything she worked so hard to build "to feel seen", begins to disintegrate like her mucus plug.
