🧵Responding to Sijuwade/FrSDY Nominative vs Predicative God Distinction in the Creed I believe that what Sijuwade/FrSDY presents as Monarchical Trinitarianism, is not supported by the Creed/Bible.

Vindicated once again. American Orthodoxy is an online religion. In reality, Americans are statistically more likely to convert to Buddhism, Mormonism, Judaism, and Islam than they are to Eastern Orthodoxy. Whatever happened to the ‘billions’ joining that I keep hearing about?
Ryan Burge 📊@ryanburge

1 in 5 Americans have left religion entirely. 1 in 13 have converted to Protestantism. 1 in 65 have converted to Catholicism. 1 in 192 have converted to Buddhism. 1 in 257 have converted to the LDS Church. 1 in 420 have converted to Islam. 1 in 423 have converted to Judaism. 1 in 474 have converted to Orthodox Christianity. 1 in 1,273 have converted to Hinduism.

Orthobros 10 years ago was originally a group in Greece, started by a cradle Orthodox that was unhappy with the direction of the Greek Church. The name was hijacked a few years ago by a group of Jay Dyer fanboys and continues today. Jay Dyer works for Alex Jones. Many of their followers are mostly minors, but many Gen Z morons, mostly with less than 50 followers. Orthobros interrupts and attacks Protestants and Catholics, as well as Orthodox that disagree with Jay Dyer. Strange, isn’t it, that they attack the exact same people they claim they bring into the Orthodox Church? Proving my point, they shouldn’t be around the Church body. A majority are antisemitic, racist, misogynistic fighting age males using the Church as a guiding monarchy. The Influencers and debaters claim they’re apologists for the Holy Church. The Holy Church needs no apologists and never had any apologists until the Prots showed up. None have the qualifications. I’m Palestinian. I have a home in Jerusalem. Hamas has destroyed the Palestinian people from the inside out. Muslims are the culprits. They hate Jews.

Can’t decide which is worse. Reading sanctimonious tweets by a former pornstar who became Catholic 5 minutes ago or bashing my face in to a brick wall repeatedly

@XCkyro It’s sad that @BreeSolstad needs to block people over this when it could be an amazing learning opportunity or at least a chance for humility. She doesn’t owe anyone anything though.

@YariLogos As I understand it, the Father is said to be the God of Jesus specifically with respect to His humanity (His flesh), since Scripture declares, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh” (Jeremiah 32:27). It makes no sense for people to argue the Father is God of the Spirit too

The divine names are common to all three Persons; only the relational names are unique: Father, Son, Begetter, Begotten, etc. Therefore, if “the one God” is a name unique to the Father, it must be relationally distinct from the Son and Spirit, making the Father their God.

Thread: Sorting out Heaven, Hell, Hades 🧵 To understand Heaven and Hell in the Bible, you must begin with the ancient worldview, not medieval art/poetry or modern assumptions.

I'll say this again, this is all cause because if the TikTok attention span people have, they can't sit down and listen to someone talk for more than 5 minutes. Not only that @Nicholai_Korea said that even if Jerome was correct on what he said his "vagueness" and "generalizing" speech makes him untrustworthy, more so by the fact he was recently baptized (2 years). So they understood slander and lies won't work since we have evidence and now they are trying to disqualify him because of the way he speaks (I don't see an issue and I've never seen evidence for the opposite) and/or the amount of time he has been baptized, while they cheer for catechumens with a "blessing" to do the same thing. Now, how can someone who is not an Orthodox Christian yet get a blessing to publicly post and inform people about the faith is a mystery. Anyone outside the Church can do as they will, the canons do not affect them, but of course if they plan to be part of the Church they should already be preparing in obedience. That being said @JeromeChukwuwem never claimed the title of a teacher, he always directs people to the Church and our faithful priests (as he should). I'm not too worried about the situation and it's definitely nothing new. May God's love and mercy be with us all in these times of temptation

Heaven and Hell are PLACES, not mere “experiences” Some today Orthobros claim: • Heaven and Hell are just subjective experiences • God is the same “fire,” • But the saved and damned experience Him differently This is not Biblical nor ancient.

On the Procession of the Holy Spirit, the Latins always made use of many different scriptural texts to show this was a biblical doctrine. For Photius, on the other hand, he had only 1 verse in the Gospel of John, nay, even from the entire Bible, and even then he could not make use of any of the other Johannine texts on the Holy Spirit for his Monopatristic error (let alone anywhere else in Scripture). Could it be that the dogmatic foundation of Greek monopatrism rests solely upon 1 verse? A verse commonly taken by the Fathers as signifying the “economic” coming of the Spirit from the Father? Just an observation.

@Orthodox_Elijah Whenever someone leaves your faith tradition (whether Catholic, EO, or Prot), it’s natural to feel they’re mistaken, uninformed, or even insincere. But instead of questioning motives, we should listen. There may be something we need to learn, or ways our own tradition can grow.
