@NoInnrMonologue @LizzieMarbach I think we agree friend. But clearly this was a cringey attack on Catholics, and I think standing up for William is foolish. Considering what he did to the Catholics in the country.

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach I agree, it's a bit cringe but people not from here weren't here to see that sort of thing from either side become more trouble than it was worth. Its easy to tweet coloured blocks.

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach That said neither side has covered itself with glory. Protestants have seen atrocities commited against them also. Bodyparts of women and children blown across the street by heroes of the irish republic in the enlightnened 20th century. Its all just sad and none of it was for God

@NoInnrMonologue @LizzieMarbach That’s the only reason the orange is offensive friend. Especially cause they’re doing on the St. Patrick’s day. That is all I am pointing out.

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach No man, I agree- the native Irish were treated woefully. I've read such and agree with none of it. I may come from the part of the north with red/white/blue kerbs but I was born here with family going back 500 years and that all the history of the island is My history.

@PhiSi777 @LizzieMarbach Also not deflecting trying to stay on topic. This is the post you commentated on. Has nothing do with: The troubles Ulster Or the Spanish Inquisition. But if you’d like to talk about William III reign of terror in Ireland I’d be happy to

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach Good attempt at deflection. All violence is wrong, none is acceptable, especially that of the Ira who killed more people ( including their own) in the troubles than any other group. I do not have to explain or justify my beliefs or experiences to someone who has a bias.

@PhiSi777 @LizzieMarbach I’m against what happened in the troubles, we agree on that. But using the Bulverism fallacy is not how you make a convincing argument. Can we agree that the penal laws of William III were bad?

@PhiSi777 @LizzieMarbach Cool story bro. Do you care you care to refute the arguments? Also never said you know nothing about your country. I’m saying you seem to be against Catholic violence (rightfully so) But prot violence is ok. Do you want to answer that or make more straw mans?

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach Blinkered beyond belief, a foreigner telling someone who lives in the country that they know nothing about their country. No wonder Americans get such a bad wrap abroad.

@BeSaintly @LizzieMarbach Also over looked was Pope Innocent XI condemnation of Williams penal laws against the Irish Catholics. He was not for Williams treatment of Catholics on the Island. I also don’t see any arguments James II was based. He was a horrible king

He actually didn’t, at least not formally. The issue, or concern, was that James II was entering France’s orbit. That was problematic because Pope Innocent XI’s political goal was to limit French power (which is another story) James II, due to obvious reasons of geography for one, needed France. Another issue was how (& who) James II appointed as bishops. So the Pope, for these reasons and for a number of others, didn’t expressly oppose the invasion. But to say “he supported it” and leave it at that is not true at all

Sephardi Jews in Amsterdam funded, armed, transported, & even planned logistics for William of Orange’s invasion. It was in their interest to destroy Catholic absolutism & install a Protestant ruler because it was the only way that financial restrictions could be eased. It also allowed them to move to & live in London, which opened up opportunities for them in the new world.

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach Look what papists did to protestants in 1641 in ulster and look what papists did to jews and protestants during the inquisition. Don't ignore the history that doesn't fit your narrative.

@PhiSi777 @LizzieMarbach After about a hundred years of persecution, nationalists wear green to show support for the freedom of Ireland. This mostly proves my point Not the W you thought it was. Tho the "read a book" was a good attempt at a mic drop.

@NoInnrMonologue @LizzieMarbach Wolfe Tone converted to Catholicism after seeing the treatment of the Irish Catholics under British rule. Granted it was partly political. Also I highly suggest you just read the penal laws of William III Read then tell me any of it justified It’s vile stuff.

@CatholicRadTrad @LizzieMarbach I'm a Northern Irish Christian. You suggest a book be read while waffling about lynchings for wearing green. Nonsense. Wearing green as a political statement wasn't even a thing until the united Irishmen rebellion, the leader of whom, Wolfe Tone, Ironically, was protestant.

Protestants are strangely uploading an orange block to commemorate the Feast Day of Saint Patrick. An orange block is a perfect picture of the difference between vibrant Catholicism and iconoclastic Protestantism.
