Artemis is “science.” Sure. But we have other missions that we want to fly. For instance Dragonfly is an helicopter probe that will fly on Saturn’s moon Titan. The Nancy Roman telescope is another example of a science mission that we want to do. There’s more to NASA than just the lunar program. ISS is aging, but that budget also goes to helping other companies build their own commercial stations to replace ISS.

@Catholic_Astro @NoLifeJordan69 "Science!!" Artemis is also science. Be specific. Oh wait you didn't read it! ISS is also aging and a decade past its retirement date.

The White House is proposing $18.8 billion for NASA in FY27, a 23% cut to NASA's 2026 enacted funding. Science, ISS, and education major targets of the proposed cuts. whitehouse.gov/wp-content/upl…

@NASAWatch @NASA @NASAAdmin Sucks that Jared has to glaze the president all the time to keep his job. In an ideal world we would get a boost to the NASA budget on top of Jared making NASA more efficient.

@safety3rdmoto @NASA No, this is actually a night-time shot of the Earth. You can see the lights from Europe in the photo. What they basically did was turn up the brightness so that you could see the Earth as well as stars around it.

Good morning, world! 🌎 We have spectacular new high-resolution images of our home planet, all of us looking back through the Orion capsule window at our Artemis II astronauts as they continue their journey to the Moon.

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

@skscartoon NASA is inefficient and bloated because it’s run by the government 🤦🏾‍♂️ Thank God for the private sector with companies like SpaceX to remind humanity that the job is not done until humans live amongst the stars 😎

Unfortunately, Artemis II seems to have caused some complete uneducated dumbos to start giving the worst takes ever conceived by man about space exploration. I just hope this is a case of the most annoying people having the loudest voice and not a reflection of public opinion.

I had a few before lift off, for my mother who wanted some. Not every day you can get a picture with a rocket that weighs 2,600 metric tons fully fueled. Not saying she didn’t do a woman moment but, she’s a woman experiencing the full launch force of a moon rocket. Of course she’ll take a selfie.

Not everything is just about projected cost. Actually, Starship’s development costs have been projected between $5-8+ Billion dollars. NASA is one of the main funders of the Starship program outside of SpaceX themselves. It takes a lot of money to get to the moon and stay there. Even with that, it’s only a 1/10 of the money for the war in Iran.

@rjward1775 Yes. That’s why I don’t support wasting $10 billion on a jobs program that deliberately killed SpaceX’s proposal to do it at 1/20th the cost, because the leftoids that still run NASA think Elon Musk is a bad guy. I don’t just say things I haven’t thoroughly thought out
