I'm not going to dis AOC's B.A., but do you really think earning a bachelor's degree is a more impressive achievement than taking a small family business w/ 6 employees and turning it into a company with over 300 employees and $20 million in annual sales? If so, you're an idiot.
Arlen Parsa@arlenparsa

AOC graduated with honors from Boston University with double degrees in Economics and International Relations. Markwayne was the only Senator without even a bachelor’s degree. Hope that helps.

@markjquann @mcuban Barely surviving? Life expectancy in Canada is 5 years higher. Canada has debt issues, for sure, but it’s not related to their healthcare system.

@CavyRPh @mcuban And Canadians are barely surviving. The healthcare system is failing. Canadians have record credit card debt. They’re surviving by pulling equity from their homes. Canada is NOT the model to follow.

Look up how and when Canada got there and how they budget and pay for it. Then ask how you would transition our system to their approach
Steven Cole@StevenMCole2

@mcuban @DrDiGiorgio It really is a shame we don't have hundreds of examples of how Single-Payer, Universal healthcare works in countless first world countries on Earth. Canada is literally our neighbor.

@markjquann @mcuban Canada’s system isn’t without fault, but if it was funded to the level the US is (17% of GDP) it would significantly better. The key here, for me, is that even by spending massive amounts on healthcare, the US is still trailing an imperfect system like Canada’s.

@mcuban Canadians struggle to get doctors. The wealthy still pay for better care. So I wouldn’t use Canada as the model. And since when has government made anything cheaper? The U.S. system is broken. But Canada isn’t the answer.

@nonlinear_james @mcuban Your “10% higher GDP” argument is moot when you compare healthcare costs as a percentage of GDP. Hilarious that you turn this into a racist diatribe to try and defend your point, and yet you have no real sense of what drives US Healthcare costs higher

Americans are vastly more obese, and less healthy because of eating habits while also having vastly more violent crime because of AA and Latino populations per capita, and has a GDP per capita that is more than 10% higher than Canada which of course results in higher costs because everyone gets paid more. Thanks for eliminating the entire difference once you actually do math instead of white washing.

Again: 1. Normalize for GDP Per capita (the poorer the people, the cheaper the costs world wide, because the doctors, nurses and all labor going into the product are less) 2. Normalize for the health of the patients because the sicker the people to start with, the more expensive the care will be. 3. Normalize for price fixing of drugs and Doctor/nurse salaries. 4. Normalize for violent crime rates, which drives up costs because of the massive expense for emergent care and after care from gun/knives etc. All of which is actually about demographics, which if you normalize for those, you can skip the above, and just get to the same number roughly. Once you do this, American and Canadian systems are about the same all in cost for the average family.

Yes, let's: 1. They kill more people on waiting lists every single year (23,500) per capita than the US does for lack of access because of cost. 2. They kill more people a year on MAID which is demand and cost control, than the US does for any cause outside of malpractice per capita per year. 3. Their costs are basically the same for a family of 4. 4. 43% of the population excluding plastic surgery have left Canada to seek healthcare because of the failures of their system. 5. Every province has started privatizing services like cataract surgery (which was > 13 MONTHS! under the public system. 6. The Canadian government in 2014 declared war on wait times on a 10 year plan. In 2024, they were forced to admit that it was worse, not better. You don't want to transition to a Canadian system. It's literally murdering people relative to the US system. Yes the US system is bad, but the Canadian (and British and French and every other socialist system is worse) And the UN admits this. On the UN scorecard for healthcare systems, once you eliminate the 50% of the score which is "free" (as in taxes), only private systems worldwide even pass. The Canadian system has a 32% score once you eliminate free whereas the US system is ~90% on efficacy.

@ta2drvn @MikeLevin It’s funny, you can’t even keep your conspiracy theories right. The 30M mailed vs 22M registered voters was related to 2024. The sheriff seized 650k ballots related to state redistricting. A vote that succeeded by over 3M votes.

@CavyRPh @MikeLevin Sure it was legit, because the state published it 🤣 the clue is that those that published it are too scared of an audit. When that happens I will not be convinced it is on the up and up. Audit away, I trust the sheriff over CA bureaucrats that stuff ballots.

Let me get this straight. The leading Senate Republican walked into the White House Sunday with a bipartisan deal to end the TSA nightmare. Fund everything except ICE now, get TSA agents paid today, handle ICE separately. Senate Republicans and Democrats said yes. Trump said no. Why? Because Trump is holding TSA workers’ paychecks hostage to try and force Congress to pass the SAVE Act, a voter suppression bill that would knock millions of eligible Americans off the voter rolls. He wants to make it harder for Americans to vote. Like a petulant child flipping the board when he’s losing, Trump torched a bipartisan deal his own Senate leader handed him on a silver platter. His tantrum continues as he unleashes ICE agents into airports. Agents with zero screening training, zero TSA authority, and a good chance of making everything worse. Democrats have been ready to fund TSA from day one. What we refuse to do is write a blank check for an ICE agency that gunned down two American citizens in Minneapolis and still demands the ability to kick down doors without a judge’s approval while hiding behind masks. We will not pass the SAVE Act either. Call it what it is: the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act. Non-citizen voting is already illegal. It was illegal yesterday. It will be illegal tomorrow. This bill solves nothing except the Republican party’s losing electoral math. Fund TSA. Reform ICE. End this today. Trump is the one standing in the way.

Trump: “We had a Dow at 50,000…Unfortunately, I called a lot of our great people. I said, let's talk. We got a problem in the Middle East. We have a country known as Iran…and they're very close to having a nuclear weapon. We can keep going and get that 50,000 up to 55 and 60, or we can take a stop and make a little journey into the Middle East and eliminate a big problem.”

@ta2drvn @MikeLevin Your California example has already been debunked. The overage was 480,000 which the state has already concluded was late registrations and re-mailed lost ballots. The percentage of non-citizen voting is Infinitesimally small, and they are caught. It’s a non-issue.

@CavyRPh @MikeLevin One and it was too many. Pass the Save Act to prevent it from happening again. PS. Why would there be a difference in the number of ballots certified (larger) than the eligible voters for that county in CA, sheriff smelled a rat now he will provide more accurate numbers soon.

It's cute you think I thought that... But there you are... We both know Biden was incapable of creating policies to lower the cost of anything. At least with Trump you have tariffs forcing manufacturing back to the USA. I mean, what was the last total... How many TRILLIONS have companies dedicated to coming back to the USA? YOU ARE WELCOME

In a sudden turn of events, US 12-month inflation expectations have surged to 5.2%, the highest level since March 2023. In just 3 weeks, markets have gone from pricing-in rate cuts to rate hikes.

Oh, so the higher prices today are because of COVID? I mean, we still have COVID... Yet in June 2021, Biden said “we can celebrate our independence from the virus” this July 4th. You know... one year before all hell broke loose on gas prices and the economy. Oh, okay... Sit down you fool.

@Angry_Staffer He now understands the only way to secure the Strait is boots on the ground. He also knows boots on the ground will kill him in the midterms. He know gas prices will kill him in the midterms too. His only solution: blame NATO and try and get them to be the ones to secure it

@raghu_venugopal @22_Minutes I’d never expect a satirical episode of a comedy show that came out 48 hours ago to impact a budget to be released in 2-3 weeks. But you know that. At the same time, from an advocacy position, building public support through any means, has benefit.

@CavyRPh @22_Minutes Thanks. However I don't think the Ontario budget coming down in a couple of weeks is going to change as a result of this and we will have serious funding cuts closing beds, firing nurses and firing PSWs. So no - I don't think this helped any ER in Ontario.
