I’m closely monitoring the hazardous materials emergency at the GKN Aerospace facility in Garden Grove, where a toxic, highly flammable chemical tank threatens to leak or explode. Roughly 40,000 residents in Garden Grove and surrounding communities are under evacuation orders.

It was wonderful today to be at Seaside Market in Cardiff, handing out reusable bags and talking about the implementation of my #SB1053, which bans plastic bags from being provided at grocery store checkouts. This will significantly reduce CA’s plastic bag pollution! @CALPIRG

I fought to bring $3.59 million home for the Oceanside Museum of Art, and today I was thrilled to present that funding. Restoring Fire Station 1 and expanding arts access will make a real difference for families and students here in our community!

The goats are back! These hardworking animals are helping us reduce fire risk by clearing the under-story around our home. Watching them move through the brush is both practical and oddly calming. Grateful for these little helpers and the work they do to keep our homes safer.

I had a great afternoon talking with neighbors about issues that affect us all. We discussed water, solar, reducing street homelessness, and housing ideas that really meet the moment! Thank you to everyone who came, asked questions, and shared your experiences.

We are hosting goats this season to help naturally reduce fire risk by clearing the under-story and invasive plants. It is a simple but powerful reminder of why strong fire management and land stewardship matter for every community in our region.
