I’m officially qualified to appear on the ballot for my reelection campaign for State Senate! I’m running because I believe in safer communities, a healthier environment, good jobs, affordable housing, and a government that helps people solve problems.

It was wonderful today to be at Seaside Market in Cardiff, handing out reusable bags and talking about the implementation of my #SB1053, which bans plastic bags from being provided at grocery store checkouts. This will significantly reduce CA’s plastic bag pollution! @CALPIRG #ZeroWaste

I fought to bring $3.59 million home for the Oceanside Museum of Art, and today I was thrilled to present that funding. Restoring Fire Station 1 and expanding arts access will make a real difference for families and students here in our community!

The goats are back! These hardworking animals are helping us reduce fire risk by clearing the under-story around our home. Watching them move through the brush is both practical and oddly calming. Grateful for these little helpers and the work they do to keep our homes safer.

I had a great afternoon talking with neighbors about issues that affect us all. We discussed water, solar, reducing street homelessness, and housing ideas that really meet the moment! Thank you to everyone who came, asked questions, and shared your experiences.

We are hosting goats this season to help naturally reduce fire risk by clearing the under-story and invasive plants. It is a simple but powerful reminder of why strong fire management and land stewardship matter for every community in our region.

I was honored to join Veterans Day ceremonies in Mission Viejo and Solana Beach today. Our region’s deep connection to the military is a source of pride and gratitude. Thank you to all who serve and to the families who support them.

Yesterday, I joined residents at White Sands in La Jolla to talk about what’s at stake in the upcoming special election — and why I’m proudly voting YES on Prop 50. Donald Trump is trying to rig the next election and roll back the rights we’ve fought so hard to protect.

The @CAgovernor has also signed my #SB477, which strengthens state civil rights law. Discrimination and harassment are not OK, and this legislation gives the state additional tools to investigate and prosecute violations and make sure Californians are protected.
