Tawanda Mutyebere is the Zimbabwean businessman associated with Chicken Slice. He is the founder, chairman, and group CEO of Packers International (trading as Slice Group), which owns the popular fast-food chain Chicken Slice, along with related brands like Pizza Slice, Creamy Slice, Slice Grill & Burger, and others. He built his wealth through legitimate entrepreneurship in the fast-food industry. After working in finance roles (including as a senior credit controller at Edgars Stores and N. Richards Group), he started his first company, Con-Tools (Pvt) Ltd, in 2004, supplying tar products and road construction materials. In 2010, he launched the first Chicken Slice outlet in Mvuma along the busy Harare-Masvingo highway, spotting an opportunity in a high-traffic area previously underserved amid Innscor/Simbisa's dominance (Chicken Inn, etc.). Smart marketing tactics, like offering bus drivers vouchers to stop at his outlet, rapidly boosted customer numbers and helped the brand grow. The chain expanded nationwide (Harare, Gweru, Bulawayo, and more), funded through reinvested profits and bank loans, without apparent reliance on political connections. By the early 2020s, it had over 16 branches and employed hundreds. Mutyebere is widely recognized for building "clean" wealth through hard work—he won the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year award (Midlands province in 2010, and national recognition later), and is often profiled as a self-made success story. He's also a gospel musician and philanthropist, but his primary fortune comes from this competitive fast-food empire.

Miriam began her journey from Cape Town, South Africa, accompanied by two others, with the dream of finding a better life in the USA. Their route took them through South America, starting with a flight to Bolivia. However, they were denied entry and had to take another flight, landing in Brazil. They traveled by bus through Peru and Ecuador, reaching Colombia with their spirits still high despite numerous hardships. They then undertook a perilous and grueling five-day trek through the Darien Gap. Their journey continued through Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Guatemala. As they neared their goal in Mexico, tragedy struck. Miriam met an untimely end, her dreams left unfulfilled. Her family is seeking $8,000 to repatriate her body to Zimbabwe.
