Not a single fan of any team in the Scottish League wants Celtic to pip Hearts to the title (except maybe (MAYBE) Hibs).
Not a single neutral wants Celtic to pip Hearts to the league because everyone loves an underdog.
So impartiality goes out the window with that handball.
Reported by @Telegraph that the Scottish FA regard the decision to award Celtic's penalty at Fir Park as correct. Head of Referees Willie Collum will address the situation in the VAR Review Show next week.
News just in, Sam Nicholson reported to training today and had a post-match medical check up.. this could be the evidence everyone needs. @EwenDCameron@JamieBrysonLLB@ScotlandSky share it wide so we can stop spreading incorrect information for the integrity of the sport.. 👊🏼
🗣️ "I am not convinced it hits his hand. Even if it does, I still don't think it's a punishable action."
🗣️ "For the record, Kris isn't a scientist."
Kris Boyd & Chris Sutton discuss that Celtic penalty decision ahead of Saturday's big title decider, live on Sky Sports 📺
@CeltForLife_@hargi_ That is a still image with the ball partially past the arm. If that is 1 or 2 frames later it may show it hitting his head.
It also shows that the arm is only up there due to the jump of Trusty pushing his arm up into that position. Collum has said those wouldnt be punished.
😳 "A scandalously bad decision!"
❤️ "Hearts deserve to win the league and I hope they win it at Celtic Park!"
Simon Jordan is staggered by how poor the decision was to award a penalty to #CelticFC! 🤯
🤷♂️ Goldstein: "If it hits his hand it would drop on the floor!"
❌ Agbonlahor: "Terrible decision... not a penalty! He's headed it!"
Andy and Gabby cannot believe that #CelticFC were awarded a late penalty to beat Motherwell and set-up a title deciding clash vs Hearts! 🤦♂️
"wE woNt bE AlLoWeD tO wIn ThE tITle"
Which begs the question, why have Celtic only beaten Rangers once in the league and not beaten Hearts at all so far?
Why have Hearts not conceded a penalty all season?
Why was Trusty sent off against Hearts?
Strange!
My screengrab from BBC. I understand and sympathise with the big majority of neutrals who would love a change at the top in Scotland. But this is not the hill to die on. It’s impossible for the ball not to hit his hand. Gary Lineker’s ‘worst call ever’ is typical of the hysteria.
What I find funny, is the ones who claimed it wasnt handball then jump on the AI images.
But the second they are presented with the legitimate images, they fall silent.
@mstewart_23 a prime example of this.
Seen too many freeze frames of Nicholson handballing. He does handball it. No question.
Here’s a freeze frame as Nicholson is just about to jump as high as he can for the ball. Trusty is yards away.
Nicholson only has eyes on the ball the whole time. He uses his arms as leverage like anyone does.
The only reason he handballs is it because Trusty runs from behind, jumps through Nicholson and knocks his arm into the ball.
No pen
@PaulJohnDykes you were brilliant on Sky. They really are clutching at straws now. Sherwood 🙄 I love how everyone has an opinion now but when decisions went against us there was no outrage from anyone except Celtic.
♥️ The Foundation of Hearts has called on the "highest standards of decision-making" in Saturday's title decider vs Celtic, releasing a statement highlighting concern about recent decisions.
