@Belmont_1983 @trueLiberalist I mean, that's literally how the officer corps works in the military and most corporations. But good for you🤷♂️
English

@Ceo0809 @trueLiberalist Half true. You might be able to delegate and manage a book but good luck telling me how to do my job when you can’t.
English

In 30 years we’ll have a biopic about how all this was staged bs.
But the Sect of def doing PT with his reports is something I can appreciate in principle.
Breaking911@Breaking911
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth started his day training alongside U.S. troops aboard the USS Boxer while the ship was docked in Singapore.
English

@bearsfanxx @DasBFD @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji You're confusing generations. Boomers were kids during those days.
English

@Ceo0809 @DasBFD @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji But that's literally what they did. Working mines, mills brutal labor jobs.
English

Boomers: “Houses aren’t unaffordable. Stop eating out. Stop buying coffee. Learn to budget.”
Also Boomers: “I can’t afford the property taxes on my fully paid off house.”
Sir.
You own the house free and clear.
No mortgage. No interest. No lender.
And the tax bill alone is breaking you.
But you want me to believe the problem is my Chipotle order.
The same system that’s pricing you out of a house you already own is the same system pricing us out of one we’re trying to buy.
Maybe it was never about the avocado toast.
English

@Belmont_1983 @trueLiberalist Companies regularly hire people who know nothing about the job because leadership isn't specific to a task. People good at their jobs don't usually make good bosses.
English

@trueLiberalist If your boss can’t do everything you can do, then why are they your boss?
English

@bearsfanxx @DasBFD @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji Of course you bring up bootstraps. That's the biggest load of horseshit ever sold. The greatest generation are the only ones with a true claim.
English

@DasBFD @Ceo0809 @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji Because they were smart. Dont you think when they bought their homes they taught the same thing? The difference is that they didn't bitch, they just pulled up their bootstraps and got to work. They worked hard jobs while you work a simple job.
English

@bearsfanxx @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji That's the point. There are no affordable homes like there were back then.
English

@Ceo0809 @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji Does it matter? Their parents probably bought houses cheaper than they did, they didn't bitch and complained. They wanted a house and worked to get one. They didn't buy homes they couldn't afford like how the youngsters do now. They had a budget and kept to it.
English

@Tortoisehead @HollyCabot Boomers didn't start the participation trophy phenomenon
English

@bearsfanxx @SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji It's still $150k for a house that was probably $30k in the 90s.
English

@SuzThinks @Cryptoboyy_Aji They bitch about the prices while living in a concrete jungle. Move to the country, houses are cheaper. I see homes here worth $150,000 that are beautiful.
English

@Cryptoboyy_Aji Maybe not the avocado toast, but possibly the type of starter home you would consider, and maybe about the need to have new SUVs in the driveway.
I’m selling a house right now for $137,000 and I’m betting you would not live in it. This is what a boomer starter home looked like.

English

@trueLiberalist @twinpilled Yeah, I see people in my neighborhood "working" at home. But it is more like:
- Drinking at the pool
- Walking their dogs
- Cutting their grass
- Grocery shopping
- Volunteering at their kids school
Pretty much everything other than working.
English

People will get butthurt about it but there's no reason these laptop class jobs can't be done at the pool. The retards doing the same thing in a cubicle are no better or more useful.
MILO@Nero
come sweet death and come swiftly
English

@trueLiberalist Definitely one of the reasons we decided not to have kids.
English

As a family of 7 I can tell you it significantly reduces my ability to go on vacations and events.
7 plane tickets is impossible for me. 7 tickets to a ballgame. 7 Disney passes. 7 meals at a restaurant. Etc. Even have to upgrade vehicles.
If sales tax is 8% that’s very real $.
Natalie F Danelishen@Chesschick01
Considering inflation is a hidden tax, I would say yes. Taxes are a HUGE reason why people just aren't having big families anymore.
English

@trueLiberalist @ATFHQ Citizens are supposed to regulate these government agencies through voting, but people are too busy rooting for their favorite political team and idolizing them to hold anyone accountable.
English

ATF is removing the two sentences from its regulatory definitions of "machine gun" that included bump stocks. This directly implements the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2024 decision in Garland v. Cargill, which ruled that semiautomatic rifles with bump stocks are not machine guns under the National Firearms Act. The change aligns ATF’s regulations with the statute and the Court’s binding interpretation. Read the final rule at federalregister.gov/documents/2026…. #NewEra

@TheMargin_space @_dxllz7 Like why does everyone use speakerphone in public?
English

@_dxllz7 Noise.
The older I get, the more I value calm people and quiet environments.
English

@TexasAnCap 80k for a Tundra is wild. I remember how much people hated the explorer sport trac, now all the midsize trucks look just like it.
English

@N0taTwitB0t @DagnyTaggartUSA @lsferguson You know over half of snap/ept benefits go to red states, right?
English

My shopping experience is similar to yours - also blue state. What is infuriating is seeing the label of “SNAP - EBT eligible” applied to so many groceries and food items across grocery outlets and restaurants. This literally increases demand and thus cost for these products WHILE we subsidize others’ diets/lifestyles. I’m so over it. If we kicked all illegals out of this country and clamped way down on who is eligible for SNAP-EBT, our groceries would likely cost half as much.
English

One week of groceries for a family. Nothing extravagant. Just the bare bones in a blue state.
I stay home. My husband only leaves the house to work. We have cancelled vacations. Taken our children out of extracurricular activities. Cancelled our gym membership’s. We do not go out to restaurants frequently. I’m wearing the same old clothes that I have for years and I need socks and underwear, but that will have to, I guess, never happen. @RFKJr_Official @POTUS @JDVance HELP!

English

@alexedmi @ImBreckWorsham So you're saying MAGA gives you an excuse to be the selfish person you always wanted to be? You aren't celebrating the country, just the parts you like. That's not true patriotism.
English

Hey, I'm happy and feeling patriotic leading up to our 250-year anniversary. I don't care that liberals see my patriotism as a negative. I don't feel their HATE. THEY are the ones who have to carry all that HATE around with them 24/7. I don't feel it. It's like they are hitting themselves over the head with a hammer and expecting MAGA to feel it. We're all going to have a wonderful time celebrating our great country on the 4th this year. I couldn't give a shit if the liberals stay home and feel miserable like a girl that didn't get invited to the prom.
English

@RepJackKimble "Properly compensated"???? $200k a year is more than every enlisted service member. And they're forced to endure a lot more hardships than "140 days" of work. 🤦♂️
English

@Texashawk76 @LondonRiverSFW Not when the people running the government are the biggest perpetrators.
English

@LondonRiverSFW Eventually the government will have to create a set of laws that govern and punish disseminating false and malicious AI content. The day is approaching, where that content will be virtually in distinguishable from the real thing, and we need to be ready legally.
English

Massie is trailing in his primary right now even though he is winning by double digits with every age group in Kentucky 4 except those who are 66 and over (apparently the district is on the elderly side). Why?
Because the AI candidate, Gallrein, has convinced a bunch of vulnerable, elderly people that computer generated content is real. I am so tired of watching Republicans stand up to this president only to be bulldozed by a misinformation cult. I will never vote Republican ever again ever if the party succeeds in doing this to him. The Party is absolutely shameful.
What’s worse is that Massie can’t simply run as an independent in Kentucky if he loses because of the state’s “sore loser” rules that prevent that. Call your relatives if you have some out there. Make one last attempt at convincing them to vote for a guy who actually still cares about this country.
English

@ScottBennet0245 @triggerOverload @otokyo So you're saying you can be a shit person, as long as you accept Jesus?
English

Oh boy. It’s like you’re starting to get it. The serious issues lie in not accepting the one who was without sin, Jesus Christ. It’s because of His sinlessness, His perfection; that you are not judged according to your iniquities. Do you hate Him? Or do you lean on Him? The later is the wiser choice.
