@OrevaZSN I understand what you are saying, surely a billion is enough, but it may lead to throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It they were all like Gates, Altman or Bezos, I think I would agree with you, but some are like Musk whose work has made a tremendous difference to humanity.
Billionaires should be illegal. Anything over a billion should be taxed 100% and go to public services. There's no reason for any single person to have that much money.
@phamos@BendyJenga@Cryptoboyy_Aji I’ve just been posting this to everybody who has asked. The house is not on the market yet. I don’t even know what it looks like inside. I assume decent, since they have been long-term renters. I will try to post a link once it’s on the market.
@SuzThinks@BendyJenga@Cryptoboyy_Aji I assume it would be, but I wouldn’t know. I’m not thinking the worst about you, I’m curious what condition this starter home is in, and where. These are not outrageous queries.
Boomers: “Houses aren’t unaffordable. Stop eating out. Stop buying coffee. Learn to budget.”
Also Boomers: “I can’t afford the property taxes on my fully paid off house.”
Sir.
You own the house free and clear.
No mortgage. No interest. No lender.
And the tax bill alone is breaking you.
But you want me to believe the problem is my Chipotle order.
The same system that’s pricing you out of a house you already own is the same system pricing us out of one we’re trying to buy.
Maybe it was never about the avocado toast.
@dept150x@redpillb0t Absolutely not true. We have more mom and pop businesses now than ever before in the history of the US. Amazon aline has 2.5 million mom and Pop businesses operating under its umbrella. The people who are doing this do not have to lose money on Brick + Mortar, insurance, etc.
@redpillb0t The rich is what went wrong, they used their wealth to buy the system and rig it in their favor. There was a time the country was full of mom & pop businesses there were no billionaires. Life was good. Today 1% control everything mom & pop business destroyed.
@Lonewolf45622@Cryptoboyy_Aji It’s not on the market yet, but it’s in Hampton Virginia… Area code 23229. Lots of employment in the area. Almost no violent crime in this particular neighborhood. But there are occasional thefts, from the information I just got from ChatGPT.
@SuzThinks@Cryptoboyy_Aji You think a starter home for $137,000 is acceptable?
It's a fucking joke is what it is.
Motherfucker, I am selling a house my dad bought in 1989 for 18k for 280k.
That is over 15x.
@eplurubusnullus@Cryptoboyy_Aji It was built in 1955. Yes, definitely a starter home. My parents bought it when I was born, and then, 18 years later, they rented it out. The housing in this neighborhood do stay rented.
@SuzThinks@Cryptoboyy_Aji That would bave been a starter home
In 1935.
Not sure how you get 3 beds out of that, i had a 700sqft apartment and the living room was a hallway between the kids room and the master room (barely big enough for a queen). Kids beds stacked.
@SirenSongPA@Cryptoboyy_Aji No septic tank… City water. It’s an old house. But solid. Zillow estimates that it can go for $165k in that area… But I used the smaller estimate because i’m sure it needs some upgrades.
I am not trying to sell a house here. I’m just giving an example of an affordable house.
@SuzThinks@Cryptoboyy_Aji Issues with this property that Suz thinks is worth anything. It is a money sink that has no value. When the septic fails there is no room for another. Well could deplete the house is useless. Framing less than 10k, roof less than 10k, siding less than 10k, windows/doors 15k.
