@CertainlyTodd
Bad at betting on horses. Good at songwriting. Do both often. I like Golf. I dislike the number 48. Malleable.

@Bulletworkout @KentuckyDerby So Happy or Emerging Market? Looks like an IPO or just happiness. I’m on the fence with those two. Hope I got it right!

@BowTiedBroke A little metal detecting might be worth a couple of hours there.?.

@nonwinnersof2L @tactical_speed The old adage “Hogs get slaughtered and pigs get fed” certainly applies to this logic. Especially a 14–1 shot who does in fact place second. Just did this at mountaineer. In the last race. Place paid $13.80. Life is good.
English

@tactical_speed Oh yes..that can be demoralizing! I take the grind change & basically bet to show (sometimes place if I LOVE the horse). As you said, it covers the bad luck, bad rides, off days for a horse (not his best), bad trips, and other elements extra. I rather take less & not get screwed.
English

@thestaggieman Saw it live and knew this would make the papers. Bad look. Gate crew is tough work but this guy just ruined a barrel of great apples for some folks.

What did I just watch? How is this acceptable
Racebrook Stables@racebrookstable
This dumbass at Keeneland doesn’t get it. I don’t care how difficult a horse is being while loading. Do not do this on camera no less. And then get shown with your energy drink. Racing doesn’t have a license to do this shit. Optics matter.

@GrantCardone If my kid gets me a tie for Father’s Day, do I owe the city/county $x for simply owning that gift? It’s criminal at best!!!!

Why should anyone be forced to pay property taxes. The state doesn’t buy the house you did. You bought the home, improved it, put a mortgage on it and paid for it. The state collects sales taxes & business taxes to fund services.
Imagine the 70 year old who owns a home today valued at $2M - they bought 30 years ago for $50,000, maintained the house for 30 years and finally paid the house off - Why should they or their heirs pay any tax much less on the increased value?
They will say, “who’s going to support the roads, police, fire department and schools? Sales tax & local businesses can support those things.
For those who support property taxes understand you open the door for the state to collect taxes on ALL property; boats, cars, clothes, art, bicycles, gym equipment, grills, tools, silverware, jet skis, stocks, retirement accounts - everything.
27 states reassess annually, and the rest, do so every 3 years OR lie California, any time you improve the property! It’s brutal and it’s endless!
If you support property taxes on personal property you are either;
a) a communist
b) confused
c) academic
d) free loader
End Property Taxes!

@mstanton1975 @lmweiss0626 TVG was my first exposure to horse racing. It was during Covid and nothing else was live and running like horses. I got Hooked. Still am. That crew entertained me and educated me and I am forever thankful for their coverage and insight.
English

@ToddTVG I would gladly pay $9 per month until I run out of $ betting 4 horse exactas to have you get the band back together and pontificate on the races ahead. During covid, horses were the only thing that ran and I had nothing else to do but begin this journey. Thank You. Take my $.

3 Weeks ago today it was announced I was no longer with FanDuelTV. For practical reasons and quite honestly, emotional ones, I stayed off Social Media since then. However, during that time friends would forward me some of the incredibly kind posts so many of you made. I’ve now had a chance to look through all of them, and I’m humbled and grateful to my core. Also, many of you ‘slid into my DMs’, each of you will be getting a response from me. Thank You.
When you give 26 years and 8 months to something, it is heartening to know that dedication was appreciated by those you worked alongside and those who watched and listened. My greatest reward has always been the immensely talented people I’ve been privileged to work with and the viewers I’ve been able to connect with.
In a Sport that leans heavily into stats, Two significant numbers for me during my time at TVG/FanDuelTV are:
*1,022,434 Miles Flown
*2,112 Hotel Stays
When you fly enough miles to circumnavigate the World 41 times, spend nearly six years in Hotel Room stays, not to mention the countless miles driven; all in pursuit of Broadcasting the amazing Sport of Horse Racing, you can’t do it without the Love, Support and sacrifice of your Family and Friends. It is why I understand as John Mellencamp once wrote: “My Family and Friends are the best thing I’ve known, through the eye of a needle I’ll carry them Home…”
And through all the travels and the Broadcasts, an amazing blessing happened; I got to meet many of you, the TVG viewers. This has given me more friends than I could ever imagine. On-air you’ve learned some of my Life’s Story and when I met you in-person I was privileged to learn yours.
The viewer has always been my North Star, and making a connection with you through all the Broadcasts or in-person has been the reward of a Lifetime. It is that connection that will never go away, it will always be.
I never liked to look back at a Broadcast I was on and critique how I felt about it. To me, that was always up to the Viewer. There have been innumerable moments we have shared together, but there are Two I’m asked about the most: One, wrestling Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler. (Which is a phenomenal behind the scenes story I’ll tell one day.) Two, is my Closing Words for the Final Day of Racing at Hollywood Park.
Whenever I was given the responsibility to do a Close to a show, there was never a script, it was ideas I’d write and then try and present in a way all the shows I worked on would be; a conversation with you. In other words, I always got to speak from the Heart.
I speak from the Heart now when I tell you how grateful I am for all the years I’ve had a platform to speak with you on TVG. In lieu of an on-air Goodbye, I believe that day at Hollywood Park covers all the sentiments I feel now and about this ending. (I’ve attached it to this post.) With one caveat, this is not goodbye forever, it is goodbye for now. I’m going to take a short break from Social Media, but I will re-join the conversation about the World of Horse Racing which has been my Community since I was a teenager, in short order. To that point, my next on-air appearance will be with my Broadcast Family @LEX18News for KY Oaks and @KentuckyDerby a role I’ve enjoyed for 18 years. Beyond that, we’ll see.
Most importantly, our connection will endure. And for all you have given me, I can only hope I’ve been worthy of your time. In the end time is our greatest Gift and my time at TVG has left me with nothing but immense gratitude - Todd T. Schrupp

@1GR8FULGUY Is that an “inverse tea bag”? Looks like an inverse tea bag to me. Assuming gender….lol.

Long ago dubbed Mountaineer racing office, which is located under main floor, "The Dungeon." Since my home studio likewise set up in basement, seemed natural title for my upcoming show. Dark, blunt, subversive, even a bit dangerous and uncomfortable..sends correct message about my commentary.

@johnrich Trigger don’t look like trigger because life with Willie was easy! This is a growing pain! All the best John!

@barshoelife I thought it was just me that makes poor choices in this game.

@3coltshandicap @MonmouthPark Horseplayers are built different.

I see this man often with his lounge chair and racing form at @MonmouthPark. He sets up shop in this spot and enjoys a great view of the horses before every race.
Pretty legendary way to spend your day, if you ask me.

@snowlikejonn 2013 Silverado captain here. Nice work. Let’s keep rolling and babying these fine machines. 230,000.

@BowTiedTrance @BowTiedKong Went to a great hypnotist June of last year. He said, nicotine will be gone from your body in 3 days. To get by he Prescribed lollipops with a Kojak reference and the catchphrase “Who loves ya baby?” along with Some B12 vitamins. Haven’t smoked a cigarette since then. So cool.
English

@BowTiedKong Being sick is a great time to make all sorts of life changes.
Alas, most of this stuff is more psychological than physical. I think the actual nicotine is purged from the system within a day or two.
The psychological addiction to routine ... different story.
English

Almost quit Zyn the first time due to being really sick, should have read this advice 8 months ago…
@SoftServe@SoftServeWine
@csjm263023432 @BowTiedKong @Cernovich Easiest way to quite anything is to wait until you are sick with a cold or better yet a fever when you have decreased or zero craving. Gets you through the first two days when you feel like hell anyway. Simple hack, but be mentally prepared
