@MaryLuCallahan1 @Rosomane1900 @joaosilveiraaa I did the same thing. Raised in a catholic home, went to catholic school, and there was not much emphasis on moral education within the school. It was quite soft to be honest with you. Sounds like the opposite of what you went through.

I’m sorry you had that experience. That is why parents are so crucial. Parents are the first teachers of the faith and are supposed to lovingly push us to love God. Sometimes it starts as fear of the lord. One cannot love immediately love something they do not yet understand. That’s why fear of the lord is a good thing. But Without parents to teach this, that fear stays fearful. Or worse.
