Yes, we remain far from victory. The libtard lunatics still hold sway at lower levels of society, such as corporate HR. Their sick ideology, that elevates deviacy and moral confusion, needs to be, and is now, being exposed as the seething rage of envious incompetents and ill-intentioned spiritual evil.
Dr. Ricardo Duchesne@dr_duchesne

As much credit as Vance deserves for directly linking the death of Nowak to "the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West" ---------------- his strong rhetoric is still operating within the West's progressive-capitalist optimizing logic rather than breaking it. Yes, Trump's administration has implemented policies aimed at reducing immigration considerably during his second term, that is, his policies are projected to cut legal immigration by 33% to 50% over the four-year term forbes.com/sites/stuartan… But, firstly, these administrative/executive measures can be reverse by future administrations. Secondly, the underlying post-Fordist economic system is still calling for cheap labor and expansion of consumption to overcome below replacement fertility of young whites and low marginal rate of consumption of aging whites. Thirdly, the dynamic of demographic replacement (millions of children born to immigrants) continues. Go check primary schools. Fourth, the ideological "superstructure" is still in full play: the political system continues celebrating diversity, encouraging integration, fighting discrimination; and warning against hatred against "minorities". A break from the path-dependent trap will require deeper structural changes: large-scale remigration, explicit prioritization of native European-descended populations, AND a fundamental cultural/ideological rejection of liberal universalism.

If "stoner movies" didn't mean movies about smoking weed, but instead movies that are fucking amazing to watch while you're high, what are your favorite.

AI learned slop from us. The machine didn't invent empty content. It just industrialized what culture was already rewarding.

@storyandplot What you are missing is the role of intentionality in the actions required execution of an idea, which in aI is now just a technical product, like injection molded plastic.

Could someone who knows more about this topic help me out? I don’t like AI from a creative standpoint because it’s just not very good yet. I’m not threatened by it. It can’t write or teach as well as I can, and I don’t think it ever will. Honestly, I don’t think writers and actors have much to worry about (with the possible exception of background actors). As an assistant, I don’t mind AI. It’s cocky and stupid, but it makes up for that by being tireless, and I never feel guilty asking it to handle something tedious. Entry-level jobs and internships are in real trouble. I’m extremely worried about the generational loss of knowledge in 15 or 20 years as the traditional pathway to skill positions are eliminated. When it comes to visuals and visually generative AI, I dislike AI because it has to steal from the work of others without compensation. I understand the common argument that all artists are influenced by other artists, but I see a clear moral difference between the analog, “wet” absorption that happens in a human brain and the binary-code duplication that AI performs. I am very comfortable with this distinction. Here’s where I’m genuinely unsure and would love input on people’s positions: If human artists design the core elements that go into an AI-assisted creation — for example, the set design (full or partial), the original creature design, or the world-building — and then use AI only to render movement, animation, fill in green screen, etc., with the director making all final choices and addressing notes… How is this terribly different from the visual effects workflows of the last 30 years? What am I missing? My instinct is to reject AI in anything creative, yet I struggle to find a solid logical line here. Is this just drawing an emotional line in the sand, or is there something more concrete that I don’t fully understand?

<coughs> Not mixing your own paints makes you a very bad painter.
PixelAloha@PixelAloha

@seanward There's something to be said for the amount of effort and decisionmaking that goes into a creative work. People will be less impressed by less work, naturally. But a lot of people operate as if not having to mix your own paints makes you a less valuable painter.

@seanward What you call friction is not accidental to meaning of what art is. Generative AI replaces the purposeful actions of artistic intent with mechanically reproduced formula s. Gen AI is a scalable industrial product, not craft in any true sense.

The most exhausting take in modern culture is the belief that an artwork’s merit is measured solely by the manual friction it took to create it. If you think the "purpose" of being an artist is the tedious manual labor of fighting a software interface, you aren't an auteur. You're a factory worker who fell in love with the machinery. Generative AI doesn’t eliminate the creative process: it elevates it. It shifts the canvas from manual execution to pure conceptual orchestration and taste. The romanticization of technical struggle is just a coping mechanism for people who are terrified of a world where they have to compete on the strength of their ideas alone.

@leekern13 I do not want to live in a world like Borges story "The Secret Miracle." Internal motivation only goes so far without genuine connection between humans. A few coins passed my way once in a while would be nice, too.

His "Come to Jesus" moment has come too late. Now he wants to resolve this the Easy Way. He chose the Hard Way, using every legal mechanism and power imbalance against the old man whose collection was stolen. He's a douchebag. DO NOT TRUST is tattooed on his forehead for the rest of his life.

Seems to me, classical realist figure paintings are mostly just poses, not gestures. And I don't mean symbolic actions like pointing at daggers, but bodies moving in and filling space, the way Fargonard did. IMO they have fetishized technical excellence to the exclusion of painting's many other virtues.

Asmongold says it’s RIDICULOUS that the CEO of Bricks & Minifigs gets to Throw those two guys under the bus & act like everything’s fine, even though he knew exactly what was happening & did Nothing “The CEO is on the phone with the police, the CEO refused to look at the contract. The CEO knew about it because he talked to Ben directly. The CEO knew about all of this & he let it happen I think it’s just ridiculous he can just simply throw these two guys away & preserve his entire company. He was trying to ruin Ben’s life & get Ben put in jail for years It’s not enough to be even. Being even is already over. Now it’s punitive. Nobody should say ‘oh no it’s ok’. They need to make sure these people never forget about this You were trying to ab*se the legal system, you ab*sed the law enforcement system, & now you are trying to lie to the public & try to save face. Absolutely F**KING NOT”
