🚨🇮🇱🇱🇧 Tourism revenue collapsed from $10.8 billion to barely a billion, 1.3 million people are displaced, and 67 villages are off-limits. That's the price Lebanon has had to pay due to the war between Israel and Hezbollah. Lebanese MP and top PM candidate Fouad Makhzoumi said that the nation has fallen so far that even Hezbollah's claim that their disarmament would lead to a civil war should be disregarded. "Civil war does not have 1.3 million people displaced." @fmakhzoumi

🇱🇧 Lebanese MP, billionaire, and top PM-candidate, Fouad Makhzoumi, is standing up to Hezbollah! He says Hezbollah has threatened to kill him for what he's doing, but he's not stopping. In an exclusive sit-down, he made the case for a historic reset: Lebanon negotiating with Israel, reclaiming Beirut block by block, and using Trump's presidency as the unique window to thread the complicated needle of striking peace and sovereignty. "Since 1984, they attacked Lebanon. What did we get? Destruction after destruction." He has a no-holds-barred message to the World: End the hostage taking of the Lebanese people @fmakhzoumi 2:42 - Why Makhzoumi entered Lebanese politics after decades in business 6:54 - The deep state, the mafia, and the militia running Lebanon 11:25 - Iran hijacked Lebanon's resistance movement and turned it into a vehicle for corruption, smuggling, and drug trade 13:15 - Why Hezbollah kept its weapons when every other militia disarmed in 1992 19:41 - The 2006 war, the deal Hezbollah itself asked for, and the 20 years Lebanon wasted after it 27:33 - Why there is no distinction between military and political Hezbollah 33:22 - The U.S. is the only country that can force Israel to withdraw from South Lebanon 38:35 - Why Trump's offer to Lebanon is the only option on the table right now 42:42 - A 70-year-old law carries the death penalty for talking to an Israeli is still on the books in Lebanon 46:20 - Hezbollah's assassination threats and why he refuses to be silenced 52:37 - Gulf investment in Lebanon and why it has stalled 1:06:22 - The golden opportunity with Trump and why nothing will make him stop

@HilzFuld Well, he wasn't a "normal person"—he behaved like a hero. Ari was a hero. The world needs normal people, and it also needs heroes. Nothing's stopping you from posting a GoFundMe link for the victims here. God bless.

Ok, this is gonna piss off a lot of people but you know what? You can keep scrolling. This is my platform and I’m just gonna say it. No one is forcing you to read this. Still here? Ok. Here goes. Yes, a dude named Ahmad tackled one of the terrorists. At the time there were conflicting reports whether it was a man named Ahmad or something else. It seems it was indeed Ahmad who did it. Before I express my opinion, I will publicly say that my post where I questioned if it was him or not was wrong. It was him. I’ll also say that Ahmad probably saved lives and for that, I am of course grateful. There. Now, let me just say it. The number of messages I got complaining about that post is totally disproportionate and out of whack. I get it, it’s so nice when a Muslim man behaves like a human being, and not like a terrorist, I get it. But let’s all relax, let’s stop raising money for him before we raise money for the families of the victims. Yes, millions of dollars were raised for him and his family, while much less was raised for the actual victims of the terrorist attack. Yes, he took two bullets for those people. And again, we are grateful. I am grateful. I understand that we are all trying to be super inclusive and nice by spotlighting that it was a Muslim man who behaved like a human being, but let’s not forget that there are hundreds of millions of Muslims around the world who are silent about yesterday, at best. So, sure, let’s mention that he, a Muslim man, did what he did. Sure, let’s say thank you. But also let’s not play this stupid game as if one Muslim acting like a normal person somehow counters the fact that it was Muslims, who acted in the name of Islam who murdered those people. Let’s not forget that the vast majority of terror worldwide against Jews but not only against Jews is carried out by Muslims. Let’s not forget that I can count on one hand the number of Muslims speaking out against the Bondi terrorists. There are infinitely more Muslims supporting the terror attack yesterday than there are Muslims denouncing it. And that’s a hard fact. So I’ll say it again, thank you, Ahmad. You saved lives. Thank you. Now, Ahmad, we hope you get better soon and are able to go back to your family. Once that happens and you receive all the prizes you deserve, mind asking your Muslim friends and family members to speak up? Mind asking your community to speak up and denounce the Bondi terrorists and ALL Muslim terrorists? I’m sorry, but I just can’t get behind this excitement that it was a Muslim man who tackled the terrorist. Would we be this excited if it was a Jewish man? Or a Christian man? Or or a Hindu man? The only reason we are this excited by a Muslim man doing this is because 99% of Muslims would never have done that, quite the contrary. So, sure, it’s nice that there is a campaign to raise money for his family, I mean that, it’s nice. What is not nice, in my opinion, is that this man’s family is taking priority over the families of the victims who were murdered or injured yesterday BY OTHER MUSLIM MEN. THEY should be our top priority, with all due respect to Ahmed. So, for the sake of accuracy, my post yesterday questioning whether it was Ahmad or not was wrong. At the time there were conflicting reports. Here is me correcting that post. However, from the need for accuracy to the tens of messages and comments I got demanding that I correct my post and apologize is a pretty big leap. Let’s all relax. It’s nice that a Muslim man behaved that way. But if we’re gonna celebrate this one man so much, then let’s be honest and say that there are hundreds of millions, yes hundreds, who either support the terrorists or are remaining silent about yesterday’s massacre. So pardon me when I send my donation to the families whose lives were ruined by two Muslim men and not to the family of one Muslim man who did the right thing. As of now, the campaign for Ahmad is at $1.25 million while the campaign for Matilda, the 10 year old girl who was murdered, is at $328,00. There’s something very wrong there. (I’ll share the link to the campaign for her down below.) There, I said it. Rant over. Attack me all you want. My money is going to Matilda, not to Ahmad. Here is the link to donate to Matilda’s family gofundme.com/f/donate-in-lo…

There's a totally crazy passage everyone ignores in the Torah as well. So Moses is traveling with his wife Zipporah and they stop at a hotel, where Moses runs into God, who wants to kill him. Meeting God at a hotel lobby and getting attacked by him is already pretty weird. It feels more like something from The Naked Lunch than from the Bible. However, what follows next is even crazier. Zipporah takes a flint knife, circumcises her baby, touched Moses’ feet with the foreskin and says, "you are a bridegroom of blood to me," in response to which God leaves them alone. What. Just what?

@aryehazan @akoz33 Most religious scholars take the Kuzari's angle - sociological evidence - that you cannot fake a mass witnessed event such as a nation receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai..to which I ask, in irony, what is Palestine if not a giant unwitnessed fabrication, but no one asks me..

Jews lived in peace in many Middle Eastern countries. But Zionists started promoting their nationalist agendas in the name of all Jews which caused terrible tension. Then Zionists started crying ‘hey you’re suffering from antisemitism’ run to #Israel! Tactic used till today!

YOU are increasing antisemitism Mr. Foxman. Jews are living in their homeland, RIGHT HERE in the USA. Zionists like yourself are traitors by implying that Israel a foreign entity is our 'political homeland.' The Holy Land was never a nation-state in Judaism. Zionism are hellbent to increase antisemitism at the expense of Jewish lives.

BREAKING: Tens of thousands of anti-Zionist Jews have gathered in the Holy Land, defiantly raising their voices in the battle cry against Zionism! Under the leadership of the Satmar Rebbe, thousands have traveled across the ocean to strengthen the long-standing, fiercely anti-Zionist institutions that reject Zionism in all its forms. Listen to the powerful anthem against Zionism: "אוי ווי גוט און ווי וואויל וועט זיין בביאת הגואל ווער עס האט זיך אין די שיטה געפירט שיטה הקדושה ויואל משה האט ער זיך נישט אוועק גערירט און דעמאלס וועלן אלע זעהן אז שיטת רבינו דאס איז דעת תורתינו"

@shevereshtus Its a great question actually for a kid to ask. Especially since Hannuka included a brutal civil war, which is also less discussed in almost all circles. Jonathan Sacks Zal has a very good shiur on Hannuka.

There is something deeply wrong in the Torah educational system and I don’t know how we can fix it. In 8th grade Halacha class, we started to do hilchot Chanukah. A kid complained that the KSA begins with a retelling of the Chanukah story and was like “Why do we need to read that again we know the story? Why is it even in there?” So, I somewhat derisively asked him “Where else were people supposed to read about it? In Megillat Chanukah? Masechet Sufganyot?” as I thought he was being facetious. And it lead to the class genuinely asking “yeah why is there no part of Tanach that discusses Chanukah? Why aren’t there mishnayot about Chanukah?” I ended up asking them why they thought that the Book of Maccabees etc weren’t in Tanach versus the rest, when Chanukah happened, etc and came to the realization that: None of them knew exactly how or why Tanach had been compiled. What was the difference between the sefarim in Tanach and books that had been rejected. They also didn’t really know how the Mishnah was compiled, what the Mishna was meant to be, why it wouldn’t make sense for Chanukah to be included as a result, etc. Ended up having a 45 minutes detailed discussion about all of this, what was nevuah, how many prophets there were, etc. The problem is… it’s not the class. Even if I went to Ohalei Torah or Lakewood and asked your average 8th grader, they’d probably be clueless too. Somehow they are taught those things at a very basic level when they are young, it’s basically never revisited, and they might be able to break a tosafot apart but they can’t even tell you why the Gemara came to be except in the vaguest details, who compiled it, and much less about Tosfot except that somehow they’re all Rashi’s singular grandson. Yeah, overall I don’t know how we can fix that. Rant over.

This is a decent summary @grok, but I just want to comment that I don't think it's accurate to describe it as a "resurfaced podcast clip," which makes it sound like someone else dug it up. The truth is that @AlanDersh himself (or his team) posted this on @X last week. In other words, it's not a "gotcha," taking it out of context, or blowing it out of proportion. It's completely his own message and messaging. I am hoping some good can come from this—one thing being that the world should know that the Rambam's students are still loyal and devoted and very protective of their rabbi's honor.
