Spotted frost in the paddock yet?? ❄️🌾 Last week at our frost research trial site, in Dale, WA, temperatures dipped to a brisk -3.2C. It’s still early in the season though, so most crops are sitting safely in the vegetative phase. Thanks to @AmanuelBekuma the pics 📷

Ever wondered how tiny bacteria could make frost damage worse in crops? 🤔 In the Better Frost Decisions podcast @ChaiyyaCooper DPIRD researcher talks about work testing products that could protect crops from frost damage caused by ice nucleating bacteria. @theGRDC ❄️facebook.com/share/19QmppNy…

In our final week of the ACPA trial, growth measurements and yield data were taken. Now it’s time to investigate if there was a difference between the six Canola varieties and three nitrogen timing treatment applications! @ChaiyyaCooper @Erin__Schilling @Bec_Swift_ @SJB_Ag

Checking in on our plot trial today. The odds are becoming more stacked against us in this sandy soil type - pests are liking the taste of our HYOLA F1 (photo 3), and the Wahoo variety (photo 4) has more of a cabbage form, but we are yet to see any flowering! #ag #curtinuni

This week we’ve noticed lots of bees hanging around! As well as something enjoying the taste of our canola and eating all the stems. It can’t be birds due to the netting enclosure, but we’re thinking rats. What do you guys think? @ChaiyyaCooper @swalters2001 @SJB_Ag @Bec_Swift_

This week in our ACPA trial, we measured our second set of growth measurements and applied our second urea (N) applications to canola treatments 2 & 3. Also monitoring for some diseases and pests @Erin__Schilling @ChaiyyaCooper @Bec_Swift_ @SJB_Ag

This week in our ACPA trial, we applied our first applications of urea treatments (N) to 6 canola varieties and collected our first growth measurements. T1 - 1 application (of 130 units). T2 (control) - 2 applications (of 65 units). T3 - 3 applications (of 43.34 units).
