This is not a day that I like to remember or memorialize. On this day, April 2nd, 161 years ago we lost our greatest Son of the South. Lieutenant General Ambrose Powell Hill. He was a West Point graduate, Mexican War veteran, a Lieutenant in the 1st US Artillery, in the US Coast Survey from 1856-1861, and he was known as "Lee's most lovable General" during the War Between the States. I could go on and on all day about him. He is my kin. He is my hero. I want people to remember his amazing life and gallant deeds. Not the day that he was taken from us. I exhumed General Hill's remains with the utmost honor and respect on 12/13/2022 after a long court battle against Richmond. I was his Pallbearer at his Reinterment, and I started the A.P. Hill Legacy Foundation in his honor back in 2023.

Yes! The 1st wave of realtors were carpetbaggers in the 1980's. They came here, saw the potential, and began advertising in papers & magazines up north. The migration at first was slow and not so noticeable. The housing boom of the late-90's was a different story, and then some of the local people joined up to cash in on the real estate craze to make big money by selling out their own ancestral lands...... the scalawags!
