We spent $22 trillion to “fight poverty.” But 70% of that money $15.4 trillion, never touched the poor. It went to the people who serve the poor, not the ones who are poor! That’s not liberation. That’s a business model. They don’t ask, “How do we solve it?” They ask, “How do we fund it?

✅️Depending on your particular assignment, be prepared to live in danger almost every day of your life. Learn how to chokehold your fear. It might still be there, but keep your death grip on it. ✅️If it hasn't consumed you, you might not be ready for it.

Things. You'll need an anchor for your soul. Fire in your eyes, steel in your mind, velvet in your heart. ✅️Stop following and listening to the shiny, glamorous folks in the spotlight. Find the dusty, disheveled, scarred ones underground and listen carefully to them.

To those who feel 'called': ✅️calling is not a glossy smear over the hard, ugly, painful things of your life. Consider how they will affect your mission. ✅️if you are called into darkness to bring light (justice, exposure), you'll need to do deeper work than reading Do Hard

I read a newsletter this morning in which the ques was asked why isn't there more of an uprising about the issues surrounding childcare. The statement was made that parents are basically left to fend for themselves. Black women and families have known and felt this for decades.

@Phil_Lewis_ Your statement isn't procedurally correct. A tie vote means they declined to overturn the lower court decision.
