"Ultimately the headline still reads: Privileged man becomes slightly less privileged." Satirist and comedian Munya Chawawa says Prince Andrew giving up his royal titles is “symptomatic of the class divide in Britain”. #Newsnight

After 9/11, NATO's Article 5 was invoked for the first (and only) time ever by the United States. Troops from the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Australia, Spain, Poland, Norway, Romania, Turkey, New Zealand, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Finland, and many others joined the fight in Afghanistan. More than one thousand of these soldiers paid the ultimate price. JD Vance - Have you said 'thank you' once for their sacrifice?

If Andrew McIntyre were in the United States, his legal situation could be quite different due to variations in legal frameworks, sentencing guidelines, and the handling of similar offenses. Here's an analysis based on the information provided: Charge: In the U.S., McIntyre's actions could potentially be charged under federal law like 18 U.S. Code § 2101 - Riots, which criminalizes traveling in interstate or foreign commerce or using any facility of interstate or foreign commerce with intent to incite, participate in, or carry on a riot (,). State laws would also apply, with specific charges varying by state but likely including incitement to riot, hate crimes, or similar public disorder charges, especially given the racial targeting aspect of his incitement. Sentencing: The U.S. sentencing guidelines for rioting or similar offenses can be quite broad. For instance, under federal law, rioting can result in sentences ranging from a few months to several years, depending on the severity of the actions, the intent, and any aggravating factors like hate crime enhancements. Given McIntyre's actions: Hate Crime: If his incitement was racially motivated, as suggested by targeting a mosque, this could lead to hate crime enhancements, potentially increasing his sentence significantly. Possession of Weapons and Literature: The presence of a knife in his car and 'Mein Kampf' at home might be considered in sentencing as evidence of intent or mindset, potentially leading to harsher penalties, especially if interpreted as indicating a predisposition towards violence or hate. Comparison to UK Sentence: McIntyre's UK sentence of seven and a half years might not be directly comparable due to different sentencing philosophies. However, considering: The U.S. has historically given longer sentences for similar offenses when enhanced by hate crime statutes or significant public disorder. Sentences under federal law for rioting can go up to 5 years for a first offense, with enhancements for use of interstate commerce or violence potentially pushing this higher. State sentences can vary widely but could align or exceed the UK sentence, especially in states with stringent laws against hate crimes or public disorder. Current Position: If McIntyre were convicted in the U.S. for similar actions, given the potential for hate crime enhancements and the severity of inciting violence following a tragic event, he could indeed be in a similar or potentially more severe position, depending on the jurisdiction and specific circumstances of his case. In conclusion, while the exact outcome would depend on the specifics of the case, jurisdiction within the U.S., and judicial discretion, McIntyre could face a comparable or even longer sentence in the U.S., especially with hate crime considerations and the context of his actions post a significant public event (,).

Anyone else’s contacts a mix of people you knew 20 years ago, that plumber you used that one time when you lived in a different city, and only like 50% of your actual friends? Why hasn’t contact management seen much innovation since mobile phones launched? I feel like my WhatsApp chats are my de facto contact management.
