This is my grandpa and grandma on their wedding day. He served in WWII as a mortar-man and fought in the European theater and was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge then honorably discharged from wounds received and was awarded a Purple Heart. They were married in 1943 before he was deployed. They had 15 children. Grandma worked in the home and grandpa worked at JL Hudson flagship store in Detroit, MI. Grandpa died at 94 and grandma died at 83. They were married for 62 years.
