UPDATE | Thank you so much, Crime Watch. After your post, we received a lead from a concerned citizen who informed us that the vehicle and its owner are in Mutoko. The informant also told us that they know the person who was in that car, including the driver at the time of the accident. The driver is said to be called Zivai Jembere, who works at BJ Petroleum. It was further reported that the vehicle had already been taken to a panel beater and completely resprayed. With the help of the police, we managed to arrest Zivai Jembere yesterday after he had been on the run since Wednesday. Today, Saturday, we appeared in court, and he has been remanded in custody until Monday. @PoliceZimbabwe

Good morning. I saw your post about the Jamaica Inn incident. I am also a victim. At around 19:20, at the exact same location, an object that I could not identify was thrown at my car, smashing the windscreen. I did not stop or slow down and continued driving until I reached the tollgate, where I reported the incident. I was assisted by two constables, Basvi and Zikali, who were very helpful. They immediately contacted the Melfort Police Base so that the area could be patrolled right away. @PoliceZimbabwe

Night drivers should be careful of a method criminals are now using. This happened to me yesterday around 8:30pm, just before Jamaica Inn on the Marondera road, a few kilometres before the toll gate. While I was driving at high speed, they threw a heavy metal object at my windscreen, causing the damage shown in the picture. The impact sounded exactly like a tyre burst. At first, I wanted to stop because I thought my tyre had burst. But as I slowed down, I noticed people moving from the nearby bush, which made me suspicious. Instead of stopping, I quickly sped off towards the toll gate. Fortunately, I managed to reach the toll gate safely and stopped in a secure place. Please be alert and avoid stopping immediately in isolated areas at night if something suspicious happens.

Our brother, Andrew, was involved in a hit-and-run accident involving this white Honda Fit and sadly passed away on Monday night.
