11-months sober. ODAAT

A few days shy of 10-months sober and I gotta say, I don’t think I’ll ever drink again. Booze lies to you. Don’t believe the lies. You’ll still be a blast to hang out with. Your friends will still want to hang and might even join you on the journey. You’ll find ways to cope.

In the military, you train to handle and store firearms. You must re-qualify every year to prove competency. We aren’t safer or freer as a society when there’s easy access to guns, especially for people with little training. We must put an end to mass shootings, not enable them.

Millions of Americans served this nation without asking what was in it for them. And Senate Republicans thanked them by using their health as a bargaining chip in their latest political game. Their gimmick will not work. The Senate should not leave until we get this done.

Can’t believe we even have to say this, but: if you just went to the Senate floor and blocked benefits for veterans exposed to toxic burn pits while serving our country in a war zone, you are wrong.

“If this is America First, then America is fucked.” Take 10 minutes to watch Jon Stewart tear into Republicans for blocking a Senate bill providing benefits to veterans, including for those exposed to burn pits.

These blatantly anti-Israel comments from a member of the UN’s Commission of Inquiry reflect that the commission has been biased against Israel since its inception. This year I sent a letter to @SecBlinken urging him to prioritize ending this one-sided “investigation.”

Veterans should be getting the care they need and deserve from being exposed to burn pits while serving, but leave it to a Republican to keep vets waiting. It's remarkable, for how much the GOP says they love vets, they barely ever show it. We need the PACT Act NOW, @SenToomey!
