BIG NEWS! I'm finally done with my table of contents! I'll try to post this in the video description of all #dnd builds going forward. I hope you find it useful! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…
@Role_Play_Chat It all depends. Are they relevant to the story or characters? Then I try to lean closer to a clan based structure with some clans working with other humanoids, others being raiders, etc etc. No monolith.
If not? I don't even think about them.
A player in my #DnD group asked to play a half orc in my homebrewed world. Which I 💯 support. Oddly enough though Orcs haven’t come up before and now it has me wondering how to integrate them into the setting in a satisfying way.
What are Orcs like in your setting?
Tonight I will be playing a #DnD hack with my 5 year old daughter. It’s her first ever time playing. I am so so excited and eager to be sharing this time with her.
Any recommendations for age appropriate challenges to overcome?
Or general guidance for running games for kids?
@thejacobshelby Depends what you're asking, what the rules say or what folks feel like it should be? You're getting alot of the second here but RAW spells last as long as their duration irregardless of the casters status unless they are concentration.
I've mostly ignored backstories for the last few years. Normally, I don't ask for one, and my campaigns run very smoothly without worrying about PC baggage from before they start the game. But I'm curious: Do any of you have good experience integrating backstory? #dnd#ttrpg
A kindly wizard king asks his people to sacrifice something of great value in exchange for a life peace, safety, happiness, and prosperity in his walled paradise. But a group of misfits discovers a dark truth, and with newfound strength, topples the power-crazed king.
Is this...
Well, well, well. If it isn't @Wizards_DnD's corporate greed showing through once more. Just in time for their new Virtual Table Top to go live and micro-transaction your wallet dry.
Physical books and products reign supreme.

@jadel4w Will always struggle to understand why we take folks who are good at their thing and make them managers. Like, yes, they understand the thing but they may a) wanna keep doing it b) are not good at managing people
One of the things the games industry often fails to do is promote the right people.
We promote our high performers, sometimes we promote the squeaky wheel, and worst of all we will push people who aren’t ready into roles of responsibility with no support or training simply to fill the job.
We need to support and train people with good leadership skills. Good communicators, those who can put project and team before themselves. Those you can trust. This isn’t always the best developer.
@paulg Abject fear infuses my very core, be it my destiny, I lover of language to be belittled and cast away as a mere artificial construct?
I'm exaggerating but like, this is close to how I talk, maybe it's all them fantasy books. ;)
@screentime@colbertlateshow The fun is hearing a fictional concept and trying to figure out how to make it work - heck it could even be educational.
Just saying "It doesn't woooooork!" is embarrassingly boring.
Neil deGrasse Tyson critiques how thumpers & sandworms work in 'DUNE 2'.
"You can't thump sand, if you do this to sand *slams fist* nobody else is gonna hear it... they have the worm going straight fast, no that's not how physics work they gotta curl."
