@jkenney Was it worth it to keep Quebec in the country for 30 more years just to give it away? #oui

@jkenney Drink it in Jason, this is a consequence of your and Marc Miller's policy of shoving as many Indians as will physically fit into every corner of Canada and you can't make it go away by using the magic words anymore. All the hard work since Trudeau has disappeared

Daniel Tyre is a racist. Racism is immoral. It is poison. It is not "vitality." It is not conservative. And what the hell does "remigration" mean? Forced mass deportation of people who lawfully immigrated to Canada, and are now permanent residents or Canadian citizens? Bananas.
Cosmin Dzsurdzsa@cosminDZS

Important debate today between @CandiceMalcolm and @DanielTyrie on remigration. There’s genuine vitality on the Canadian right right now: remigrationists and restrictionists, Alberta sovereigntists and Canadian nationalists. We’re stronger for it. junonews.com/p/how-can-we-r…

@GarnettGenuis @cosminDZS @CandiceMalcolm @DanielTyrie The crown does reserve the right to revoke citizenships granted fraudulently and it's logical to extend this power to people who were granted them who never should have been or who have proven that they shouldn't stay.

@GarnettGenuis @cosminDZS @CandiceMalcolm @DanielTyrie An absurd suggestion, it's a principle of international law that Canada could not make Tyrie stateless. But it could certainly denaturalize people who don't belong here, just as your party once proposed doing for "barbaric cultural practices"

@a_picazo Your idea of the "right" is about 2 decades out of date. I personally think an independent Quebec should do whatever it takes to get the FIS to accept le Massif and bid for a games

A Venn diagram of those on the right who insist the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games marked the apex of Canada's greatness in both sport and civilization and those who lobby against every Canadian bid to host a future Games citing provincial/federal deficits and the proposed cost(s).

It’s wild the Ottawa Senators have zero Canadian players representing them at the Olympic Games. That’s gotta change. It’s been two decades since a Senator has donned the maple leaf on the world stage, with Dany Heatley and Wade Redden being the last to do so.

@cselley As to the hemispheric idea that's easily defeated by the success of Australia and New Zealand in freestyle skiing and snowboarding

@cselley It's also just the case that the best alpine skiiers tend to come from alpine countries and grow up in the mountains but that's neither here nor there

When my kids ask me where I stood during a time when some chose division and deference to authoritarian politics, I’ll be proud of my answer. I stood for a united Canada. I stood for our democratic institutions. I stood for the principle that our diversity is our strength. And I never forgot that generations before us fought and sacrificed for this country’s freedom. That freedom wasn’t earned so it could be surrendered out of convenience or partisanship. Country over party. Every time.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had this, but for Canada. Instead, we have the @CPC_HQ. We do have this, it’s the @BlocQuebecois and the @partiquebecois. Maybe this, but for Anglo and European Canadians.

@Prominent_Bryan Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic all have better records in best on best hockey than the Americans, and Russia is similar (🇷🇺🥈🥉🇨🇿🥇🥉🇸🇪🥇🥈🇫🇮🥈🥉🥉🥉🇺🇸🥈🥈). I don't see why Americans should be the only challenger.

Olympic hockey should just be a best of 7 series between Canada and the US The other teams could do a tournament to win bronze

@AdamZivo Have you considered that the existence of the "trans movement" is a consequence of reorienting our entire society (including 1/4 of the calendar) around the celebration of man love and the two are inseparable You can't have "gay marriage" without a few insane transgender people

The excesses of the trans movement have undermined advocacy for LGBTQ rights internationally. The circus around Jesse Strang is an example of this: when people in the Global South, Asia, and Eastern Europe see Westerners refer to a psychopathic male mass shooter as a "she," that validates their worst assumptions about LGBTQ inclusivity and stokes hostility towards basic rights (e.g. anti-discrimination laws, not imprisoning homosexuals and gender-diverse people). There's also an international security dimension to this. The anti-Western axis, led by Putin in this respect, is exploiting the ridiculousness of "woke culture" (for lack of a better term) to peel countries away from the west's cultural/political orbit.

NEW: The "gold or bust" mentality of Canada, the U.S. and Sweden is justified and understandable. It also stinks. For them. For their fans. My column on the joyful spirit of the Olympics, and how the Big Three don't really get to experience it: nytimes.com/athletic/70394…

Pretty sad that the Sens haven’t had a player on Team Canada at the Olympics in nearly 20 years. Last ones were Heatley and Redden in 06. The nation’s capital has to do better.

@brendanshowbiz @ToulasTake Look at the top 10s of some recent drafts - there's usually 1-2 generational Canadians near the top but the rest are USNTDP players or Euros from countries taking this more seriously. We need to wise up!

Very good column from @ToulasTake about the lack of Quebecers on Canadian men's hockey team. I said to her: “For someone to say it’s some federal conspiracy, who didn’t they pick that they should have? There’s no one. The players simply aren’t there.” thewalrus.ca/quebecs-olympi…
