🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Iran war is costing the U.S. $500 million a day. But the dollar figure isn’t what should worry you most. Iran has systematically targeted the hardest to replace assets America has: radar systems. Two AN/TPY-2 radars have been struck, one in Jordan, one in Qatar. Each costs $485 million to replace. A Boeing E-3 Sentry early warning aircraft was badly damaged near Riyadh. Replacement cost: over $700 million. These are the eyes that detect incoming Iranian missile volleys. Fewer eyes means slower responses. Slower responses means more missiles getting through. Total estimated battle damage: up to $3.6 billion. Total war cost entering the sixth week: up to $43 billion. 13 Americans killed. 300 wounded. And the Pentagon wants $200 billion more from Congress. Here is the part that should concern everyone: the U.S. has started moving missile defense assets from South Korea to the Middle East. Assets built to deter China. Assets that cannot be in two places at once. As the U.S. experiences greater and greater attrition, Beijing could be tempted to move on Taiwan. Iran cannot beat America.
