Two days ago the US banned Claude Fable 5. Yesterday China dropped GLM 5.2. Today GLM 5.2 is #1 on @bridgebench BS at 100.0, and #1 on Reasoning at 42.8, beating Fable 5. Some customers are worth sending to your competitors

I know there are other associated costs the contractor has, but I'm gonna turn it back around on you. If the contractor has all those other expenses, "that's their problem. Cost of doing business". It's not my responsibility for them to [fill in whatever expense you want here]. So we can be unreasonable or we can acknowledge there need to be better solutions. I had an A/C repair quote for $1600 to replace a TXV. Purge the system, replace, solder, purge, refill with my own refrigerant. I was told it was a 4 hour job. So you're telling me I need to pay $350/hr for labor, plus the part and the trivial amount of map gas and solder, gasoline, etc for that job? No. Nevermind the Certified HVAC tech misdiagnosed the issue.

When you pay highly for a highly skilled individual to do a job quickly, it's in response to a time premium. You gain that person's time to achieve more. When you pay a contract technician to do a job quickly, the time premium has very little value as the customer. You're not doing me any favors by doing a simple job in 15 minutes, regardless of how skilled you are. It only benefits the contractor. And charging me 3-5 hours wage to do a 15 minute job, regardless of your skill, is a rip-off.

@TheLZ72356514 @Mericamemed It's a mixed bag. You're partially right, that guy is individually responsible for his reputation. But I've also had sole proprietors do an absolute shite job to band-aid the problem, or get a call for a better paying job mid-way through and just leave.
