I think you are underestimating the genocidal hatred seeing this in person will cause in America. I was there after 9/11. Americans don't like this stuff but it doesn't make us sad, it makes us want to glass entire region of the world.

Most Europeans have no idea how absolutely furious with Europe America is. This is not just another disagreement. Betrayal is not something you just let slide. And the mouthy responses from Europeans are pouring gas on that fire. They have misjudged the situation gravely & it will have grave consequences for Europe— economically AND militarily.

Their general attitude toward the Islamic regime of Iran is consistently positive and defensive: they fact-check and deny claims of Iranian terrorism/support for it, portray the government as anti-terrorist fighters (e.g., vs. ISIS), accuse critics/Israel of falsehoods or false flags, and defend Iranian society/policies while opposing regime change or attacks on it.
