Scholarship Tip💡
One response that has never failed me in scholarship or job interviews is when I’m asked about my « weakness »
I usually say:
“I tend to be overly critical of myself. Even when I’ve done well, I still replay everything in my head and think about what I could have said better or where I may have fallen short. However, I recently started celebrating small wins. I keep a jar where I write down every little achievement, and at the end of each month, I open it and reward myself with something small.”
The key to answering the “weakness” question is not just to mention a weakness but to show self awareness and explain how you’re actively improving on it.

Seee ehnnnn!!!!
One way or another, people are doing eye service at work.
Lowkey, everyone is competing, and almost everyone wants some form of recognition from the directors, managers, or supervisors.
So if you don’t want to dim your light, contribute during general meetings. Say something. Be recognized!
Even when you think your idea may not be perfect, articulate your thoughts and speak up.
Do not constantly reserve your thoughts and stay silent. People who isolate themselves professionally will miss opportunities.
I remember when I was working in a social impact organisation back in Nigeria. I rarely wanted to speak during our general meetings, even when I had valuable contributions.
Then one day, the Executive Director asked,
“What is the mission and vision of this organization?”
Honestly, I expected someone else to answer immediately because I was sure people who had been there longer would know it.
Silence.
Nobody said anything.
The Executive Director looked genuinely shocked.
‘So you mean nobody here can recite our mission and vision??’ - he said
At that moment, the silence was deafening and I did not want us to appear incompetent, so I recited the entire mission and vision of the organization.
Mind you, I had only been there for one month. People who had worked there for years could not say it.
Immediately I finished speaking, the room erupted in applause. I was just hearing wow wow wow (like an ambulance 😆)
The Director was so impressed that he later got me a gift during one of his trips, and my immediate supervisor gave me a cash gift.
That was the day people started seeing me differently.
People became more receptive to my ideas. They always wanted to hear my thoughts
They listened when I spoke.
I became more visible in the organization and took on more leadership roles which of course, bulked my CV
