THE SPIDER THAT BIT PETER PARKER WAS 100% REAL 🚨 - In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movie, the spider that bites Peter Parker was 100% real. - There was no CGI or VFX used for the spider in that scene. - The filmmakers gathered thousands of spiders and auditioned them. - The audition was based on how the spiders looked and how they moved. - Initially, they planned to use a Black Widow spider. - However, it was too venomous and dangerous, so they decided not to use it. - After that, they selected a species called Steatoda grossa (False Widow spider). - This species is not very dangerous compared to others. - The chosen spider was then painted red and blue. - The makers even hired a special trainer for the scene. - This was done to ensure the iconic spider-bite scene didn’t look fake. - The spider shown biting Peter was completely real. - It was a trained spider, not CGI or VFX. - The spider was actually crawling on Tobey Maguire during the scene.
