@YahooSports Acute major ACL tears are often associated with several common things: audible “pop”, rapid effusion ( because of intra-articular blerd), and most importantly MRI evidence of condylar bone marrow oedema (because of contre coup injury), with or without meniscal tear.

Lindsey Vonn took issue with critics who questioned the details of the torn ACL that she suffered a week ago.

@rodger @CaliTenDay Well, strictly speaking the ACL isn't necessary for high level athletic undertakings. There's been plenty of NFL players who went considerable lengths of time - or careers, even - without some of their ligaments. As long as everything else stabilizes the knee you're fine.

honestly unbelievable: Lindsay Vonn attempted & completed her training run a week after tearing her ACL, hitting a top speed of 74 mph. They haven't fixed her ACL, it's just flopping around in there. And her other knee is made out of titanium. Very literally built different

I don’t think people realize the impact of TXA on high blood loss high risk operations… The road has existed for 50+ years and is cheap but it’s usage is a relatively new phenomenon that has dramatically increased for the last 10 to 15 years It’s cheap. It’s effective and hasn’t been pillaged by the bad actors in healthcare. If I was to list the things in my life that I love My wife and my children are first My country is next TXA is third and depending on how annoyed I am with the US government, it sometimes moves to second.

It’s very hard to persuade patients - to self pay for physiotherapy with they are insured But super frustrating that quite a few of the best physios i work with (outside of London) and want to utilise won’t see Bupa patients - understandably - because of the remuneration rates & red tape PMIs - do better please 🤯🤯🤯

@ClementsCharl96 In my experience (30+ years of doing knee surgery) most degenerate menisci and post-meniscectomy knees are not associated with SIFK. SIFK is spontaneous focal subchondral metabolic (neurovascular) issue of uncertain origin, often recurrent and migratory. Needs more work!
