In all the debate around whether to legalize Waymo in D.C., this is a really interesting (and relevant) question to ask. Additionally: What of the many drivers who are already making a living off of Uber, Lyft, and other ride-hailing services? What will happen to them?

When democracy is under threat, we can't sit on the sidelines. That's why I’m stepping up to run for City Council in my hometown of Providence. After a career electing leaders and winning campaigns on the issues that define our era, it’s time for me to get in the game.

It’s back to school season and across DC we are getting ready to teach our kids and prepare them for the future. 

Today, 1,000 additional National Guard troops are set to arrive from West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Mississippi. Some will likely be armed.

National guardsmen have families too —Instead of patrolling the National Mall and streets of an American city with a 30 year crime low, they should be able to be home helping their kids get ready to go back to school too.

I’ve been talking to unhoused residents around the city today about what to expect and trying to connect folks to resources and indoor shelter in light of the federal sweeps planned to begin tonight.
