I have lived long enough in this country to witness many things the liberation struggle, the years of Gukurahundi, the long reign of Comrade Robert Gabriel Mugabe, and the events of November 2017. In all those years, in all those chapters of our national story, I never not once saw a house of God shuttered, its congregation turned away, so that a politician could pass through. Not even for the President of the Republic.Yet today, 28 March 2026, a Christian congregation was denied access to their own place of worship because Daniel Garwe a Cabinet minister, a servant of the people requires the space. And the man who owns this project, Kuda Tagwirei, was seated comfortably in that very church this morning. I want to ask Tagwirei directly What exactly were you worshipping in there?Because the God I know does not require you to lock His own children out of His house. That is not the Gospel. That is a performance. That is the theatre of men who have confused proximity to power with proximity to the Divine. Garwe calls himself Pope. I have no quarrel with a man's faith faith is sacred. But when your faith requires a congregation to be displaced, when it requires a church to close its doors to ordinary Zimbabweans so that your motorcade may pass in peace, then what you are practising is not Christianity. It is worship of self. Cde Mugabe whatever his faults, and history records many never demanded this. He sat in churches alongside ordinary citizens. His security presence was felt, yes, but the church remained open. The pews were not emptied for him. We have now sunk beneath that watermark. Zimbabwe is a Christian nation by constitutional declaration. Our churches are sanctuaries not event venues to be commandeered by the powerful. When we begin suspending worship for political VIPs, we are not just disrespecting the congregation. We are telling God Himself wait outside, the big man is coming through. To Kuda Tagwirei you were in that church today. I hope whatever was said from that pulpit reached you, because the optics of your presence in a space that was closed to others in God's name is a profound statement about whose side you stand on. IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF EXPORT OF RAW MATERIALS AND LITHIUM CONCENTRATES The Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Hon. Dr. P. Kambamura (MP), has announced an immediate suspension on the export of all raw minerals and lithium concentrates, effective immediately. Addressing the press this morning, Minister Kambamura outlined sweeping new regulations aimed at enforcing in-country value addition and clamping down on the illicit outflow of the nation's resources. The ban includes all consignments currently in transit. Here are the highlights from the press conference: 🚫 IMMEDIATE EXPORT BAN Government has suspended the export of all raw minerals and lithium concentrates until further notice. The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA), the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ), and all other regulators have been directed to enforce this suspension without exception. 🛑 ELIMINATION OF MIDDLEMEN To enhance transparency and accountability, only mining companies holding valid mining titles and those with approved beneficiation plants will be authorised to export processed minerals. Minister Kambamura stressed that agents and third-party traders are prohibited from exporting minerals on behalf of title holders. 📋 STRICTER DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS New mandatory requirements for export permits have been introduced. Applicants must now provide: · A recommendation letter from the relevant Provincial Mining Office, detailing the applicant's beneficiation capacity and compliance status. · A declaration of mineral composition for each consignment. The Ministry reserves the right to conduct independent verification tests on any shipment. Permits will not be processed without full compliance. ⚖️ PENALTIES FOR NON-COMPLIANCE The Minister warned that ZIMRA and MMCZ will strictly enforce the new rules. Any exports without valid permits will be denied clearance. Furthermore, the continuation of an expired or exhausted export permit is now a serious offence that could lead to the withdrawal of both the export permit and the underlying mining title. 🇿🇼 NATIONAL INTEREST "These measures are being implemented in the national interest, to enhance mineral accountability, promote beneficiation, and maximise value retention within Zimbabwe," said Hon. Dr. Kambamura. The Ministry indicated that it will be engaging the industry in the near future to discuss the new expectations and the way forward as the government moves to ensure Zimbabwe benefits fully from its mineral wealth.

The sight of Chief Murinye, a qualified lawyer, shouting his voice hoarse,organizing blockades and taking the law into his own hands is deeply troubling. Whatever grievances he may have, he must respect the rule of law and the limits of his office. The trauma inflicted on children by these actions is unnecessary, and unlawful tactics that attract negative publicity do the country no good. Chief Murinye should exercise the dignity and responsibility of his position and refrain from acting as an activist. Don’t be like Trump, you are a chief for crying out loud.

Rehab is a very difficult decision especially when you know you’re not using what they say you’re using. I’ve always just avoided it because that’s a place where I know the junkies go. As a man that drank a lot of alcohol, but still had the ability to make proper decisions the next morning…I thought I could just conquer it easily. But the same alcohol has destroyed others before - their health, their families, their talents and their lives. So I’ve made this BOLD decisions to get professional help. I know a lot of people wish to see me finished in so many ways but the same people you’d wish to put me in the problems you’d celebrate have always shown me love and expressed the genuine need for professional help. And this is a step towards that. I still call myself “the leader of the youth” because I STILL AM, I just need to remember the direction they need to be led in. The right one. The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 21/08/25 at around 1700 hours at the 48 kilometre peg along Nyanga –Rwenya Road. Two people were killed while 10 others were injured when a Honda Fit with 11 passeners on board veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof. The bodies of the victims were taken to Nyanga District Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured were referred to Regina Coeli Mission Hospital for treatment.
