@IterIntellectus Africa should build massive canals through the country. Ships could pass, they make a ton of money, also add solar to every inch of the desert. Water flows through the continent, free energy for desalination, unlimited water. Come on, it's not that complicated.

There are 10000000 different communities of people who are competing with each other
They reason they make little progress is that active measures are taken to prevent them from being united under a strong local leader.
The most crucial way this is done is via foreign aid. It keeps them just well enough to not have the motivation to do anything about their problems
