Today 🇮🇪 hosted an event on protecting children from the impacts of explosive weapons in populated areas (EWIPA). This week, the Analysis & Outreach Hub of the OSRSG for Children and Armed Conflict in Doha, with @unesco & @unesco_gccyemen, convened a webinar for educators working with conflict-affected children, including those formerly associated with armed groups. Education protects.

As we celebrate #ProveItMatters & 30 years of CAAC, Government Commissioner for Human Rights Tatana Malá shares a child’s message, reminding us this agenda is about real children & real rights. Together, we must prove children’s rights matter.

At the end of her mission to Haiti, @_VanessaFrazier briefed ambassadors on what she saw and heard about children’s situation. Her message was clear: too many children remain exposed to violence, illegal detention and armed groups. Child protection must remain a priority.

On this inaugural World #FairPlay Day, we celebrate sport as a space built on respect, inclusion, & solidarity. These same values must extend beyond the field & guide how we protect every child’s right to safety &☮️ Children belong on the playfield, not the battlefield.

During a meeting with the @MJSPHaiti, #BINUH, #UNICEF and SRSG-CAAC called for effective implementation of the 2023 transfer protocol to protect children associated with armed groups as victims of recruitment and exploitation, and urged greater support for juvenile justice.

The Analysis and Outreach Hub of the OSRSG-CAAC held a productive discussion with Qatar’s National Human Rights Committee, led by Ms. Ameera Al Hedfa, on strengthening cooperation to advance and protect children’s rights in Qatar and across the Arab region.
