Earlier @Rachel_deSouza spoke to @SkyNews about what children told #TheBigFuture survey to improve their lives. Disabled children in Bournemouth wanted more accessible playgrounds, while children in Liverpool urged the new Prime Minister to include young people in his plans.

Delighted to receive my second woggle during #TheBigFuture tour from 1st Parkstone Scouts while visiting @nationaltrust Brownsea Island. Such a beautiful place providing children the opportunity to get out and explore in the spiritual home of the @scouts.

Fantastic day visiting @nationaltrust Brownsea Island with 1st Parkstone @scouts to hear from young people about the priorities they want from the new Prime Minister to make children’s lives better. They were brimming with brilliant and varied ideas for the government.

Back on the road this morning and in Bournemouth for #TheBigFuture, hearing from young men at @inspiredAUB about the ‘Being a Boy’ project. They spoke about the support they’ve received & the role models shaping their lives. Thanks to local MP @JessicaToale for joining the conversation.

I look forward to working with PM @andyburnham @10DowningStreet. He put children’s voices at the heart of GM and backed my Children’s Plan. Children are optimistic and ambitious. We must reflect that in bold policymaking which makes a difference to young people’s lives.

Children in care should be in stable, loving homes – instead, too many go to sleep in unsafe, uncertain, unregistered, profit-driven settings. This powerful @LabourList piece from @JCBoyce85 shows why we’ve lost the capacity to care and the urgent need for more foster carers.

On my visit to Southampton, young people spoke honestly about the challenges of entering the labour market. As we look ahead to the Milburn Review and a new Prime Minister's reforms, we must ask: how do we make more success stories possible? Government has announced default midnight curfews and infinite scrolling switched off for 16 and 17-year-olds’ social media. I have called for more protection for children up to 18 - full response below. I was on Times Radio last night previewing the move.
