I have personally known @zachiscol for nearly 30 years and his departure represents a real loss for NYC. Since our time in college, Zach has spent his life in service of others - not only as a @USMC officer who led with courage wherever he was deployed, but also as a co-founder of @headstrong and then as a public servant who brought discipline, clarity and seriousness to some of the City’s most demanding challenges. Zach carried a deep sense of responsibility for the people he served and never treated leadership lightly. My heart aches as NYC is now losing a capable, principled leader who is the EXACT archetype of an individual we WANT in our Government - not the type who should be leaving it. @Taniel I live in this district and I didn't even know anyone was really challenging Marmarato. In Throggs Neck and Country Club there was nothing that made you even think there were Democratic nominees. It's sad because there are plenty of Dems in this area and we are largely ignored.

A tight race in the Bronx so far: The GOP won a council seat for the first time since the 1980s there two years ago, and Democrats are trying to win it back. Right now: Dem Shirley Aldebol is up on GOP incumbent Kristy Marmorato 49.6% to 48.4%
