FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / 即刻发布 ChinaAid Urges Decisive U.S. Action as Bipartisan Congress Presses Trump on Pastor Ezra Jin Case 对华援助协会呼吁美国采取果断行动,支持两党国会敦促特朗普推动金明日牧师获释 Midland, Texas / 美国德州米德兰 — March 25, 2026 / 2026年3月25日 ⸻ ENGLISH ChinaAid today issued a strong call for immediate and concrete U.S. government action following a bipartisan, bicameral letter led by Senators Ted Budd and Tim Kaine and Representatives Riley Moore and Thomas Suozzi urging President Donald Trump to press for the release of Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri ahead of his meeting with Xi Jinping. “Words are no longer enough,” said Bob Fu, President of ChinaAid. “The Chinese Communist Party has escalated its systematic campaign to eradicate independent religious life. The United States must respond with consequences—not just concern.” Pastor Ezra Jin, a leader of Zion Church, was arbitrarily detained on October 10, 2025. His case is not isolated—it is emblematic of a nationwide crackdown targeting house churches and religious minorities. ChinaAid underscores that Pastor Jin’s detention is part of a broader pattern of persecution, including:    •   The sentencing of Wang Yi of Early Rain Covenant Church to nine years in prison    •   The ongoing enforced disappearance of human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng, missing for nearly nine years    •   The 15-year prison sentence of preacher Yang Rongli of Linfen Golden Lampstand Church    •   The continued imprisonment of democracy advocate Wang Bingzhang, serving a life sentence    •   The systematic dismantling and repression of churches such as Early Rain Covenant Church and Golden Lampstand Church “These are not isolated abuses—they constitute crimes against humanity targeting people of faith and conscience,” Fu added. ChinaAid calls on the U.S. Administration to immediately: 1.Publicly and unequivocally demand the release of Pastor Ezra Jin and all prisoners of conscience in China 2.Invoke the International Religious Freedom Act to impose targeted sanctions, including Global Magnitsky sanctions, against responsible Chinese officials 3.Deny visas and restrict entry to perpetrators and their families 4.Elevate religious freedom violations as a central, non-negotiable issue in all U.S.–China diplomatic engagements “Failure to act decisively will only embolden further repression,” Fu said. “The credibility of the United States as a defender of human rights is at stake.” ChinaAid affirms its unwavering commitment to exposing persecution and standing with the persecuted church and all victims of religious repression in China. Media媒体联系media@chinaaid.org

Last fall, police carried out arrests across provinces. Twenty-seven pastors and workers were taken. Now, five months later on day 159, eighteen of them remain in detention centers in Beihai. The lawyers who dared to defend them started facing their own pressure. Some were summoned and warned. Others had their practice suspended or licenses revoked entirely. Dr. Bob Fu, President of ChinaAid, issues the following statement: “The Zion Church case clearly demonstrates that the Chinese Communist authorities are systematically dismantling the final safeguards of religious freedom and the rule of law. This is not only a persecution of believers from Beijing Zion Church, but an organized assault on the entire legal system. On the one hand, authorities are arbitrarily detaining innocent citizens; on the other, they are using threats, punishment, and even disbarment to eliminate lawyers who dare to provide legal defense in accordance with the law. This is no longer mere misconduct in an isolated case—it is institutionalized repression at the state level. We strongly call on the international community to take concrete action, including imposing sanctions and visa restrictions on responsible officials under global human rights accountability mechanisms, and holding them accountable for severe violations of religious freedom and legal rights. At the same time, we urge the Chinese government to immediately and unconditionally release all detained church members, restore the licenses of affected lawyers, and cease all forms of repression against religious communities and legal professionals. Any continued silence will be seen as acquiescence to this persecution.” Learn More chinaaid.org/news/day-159-1… #BeijingZionChurch #ChinaPersecution #PrayForChina #ChristianPersecution #ReligiousFreedomChina

Preacher Li Jie’s Heartfelt Words to His Wife As Spring Festival approached, imprisoned Preacher Li Jie of Linfen’s Holy Covenant House Church wrote a warm letter to his wife, Shanshan. After nearly four years behind bars for his faith leadership of an unregistered church, he reflects on passionate courtroom defenses, his wife’s steadfast cries at the courthouse, and the heavy steps into prison. He dreams of his children and home as they were in 2022. With release just months away, he anticipates treasuring ordinary family meals and solemn worship gatherings. His closing words of peace, thanks to supporters, and hope for 2026 embody the quiet resilience and deep faith of China’s believers. Preacher Li Jie’s Words from Prison: “I have finally come to understand: it is not that suffering is unworthy of us, but that we are unworthy of suffering. The first truly new event in history happened within suffering. In suffering there is redemption, yet suffering itself is not the gospel. This realization has humbled me. Suffering is not a kind of capital; it is only an ordinary experience—simply an encounter with the saints who testify to the gospel, a process through which grace settles and deepens.” #ReligiousFreedomChina #PastorLiJie #HouseChurchChina #FaithInPrison #ChinaAid chinaaid.org/?s=Preacher+Li…

Joyful Homecoming: Elder Zhang Chunlei Returns After Five Years of Faithful Perseverance In a moment of quiet triumph, Elder Zhang Chunlei of Guiyang’s Ren’ai Reformed Church has returned home after completing his five-year prison sentence. Thinner from the ordeal but with a spirit full of hope, he was welcomed with flowers, standing before a cross in testimony to enduring faith. Arrested in 2021 for his pastoral leadership, he faced separation from family and health challenges, yet clung to deep conviction. Even in isolation, God's presence sustained him, as he expressed through letters and poetry from prison. His reunion stirs hope among China’s house churches, reminding us of resilient faith and the call to support religious freedom worldwide. Join us in giving thanks for this homecoming and praying for Elder Zhang and China’s faithful believers. Your solidarity brings real hope. #ElderZhangChunlei #ReligiousFreedomChina #HouseChurch #ChinaAid #PersecutedChristians Read Elder Zhang Chunlei’s Story Here chinaaid.org/?s=Elder+Zhang…

Two Members of Yayang Church Taken Away BREAKING: In Wenzhou, China's "Jerusalem," two devoted members of Yayang Church were taken by police on February 26 and March 9, 2026, vanishing without trace or legal notice. Families, gripped by fear, face endless evasions from authorities, echoing a December 2025 raid where over 100 believers were hooded and detained amid a massive crackdown. Refusing state-imposed flags and cameras, the church's bell tower was demolished in January, with 22 arrested in total. These faithful souls endure secret interrogations, yet their unyielding faith inspires communal prayers for justice. Amid violations of due process, their resilience calls us to witness and advocate for religious freedom. Stand with Yayang Church—share their story, pray for the detained, and support persecuted believers. Your solidarity brings hope. Amid war in Iran and brutal persecution in China, underground house churches are multiplying! From one family under Mao's Cultural Revolution in the 1960s, China's believers have multiplied to 100 million. Iran's faithful spread nationwide, defying chaos. This is God's unstoppable movement! Let's unite in prayer for these courageous souls, that their light shines brighter and more hearts turn to Christ. #PersecutedChurch #HouseChurchMovement #IranUndergroundChurch #BiblicalPersecution #GlobalRevival
