Rep. Chip Roy Press Office
.@FDRLST: "Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, is a co-sponsor of the Expedited Transparency Act. Roy previously introduced a bill that would give Congress access to Treasury Payment System transactions exceeding $25,000. Proponents say the Expedited Transparency Act would build on the previous work." Rep. Roy is proud to lead with @RepBrecheen & @RepJimmyPanetta on this important legislation so that taxpayers can finally get timely accounting of how their tax dollars are being spent. thefederalist.com/2026/03/18/bil…

Grateful to @RepChipRoy for co-leading the Expedited Transparency Act with us!
Rep. Chip Roy Press Office@RepChipRoy

Federal spending is out of control, pushing our nation further and further to the brink. One of the many tools we have to keep it in check is transparency. Rep. Roy is proud to lead with @RepBrecheen and @RepJimmyPanetta on the Expedited Transparency Act so that taxpayers can finally get timely accounting of how their tax dollars are being spent.

Today, the House voted on @RepAndyBiggsAZ’s Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution. This legislation, which I cosponsor, would prohibit Congress from annually spending more than it has, on average, collected in revenues over the previous three years. Sadly, while this is a commonsense Amendment, there was not enough support behind this legislation for it to pass. Despite our nation heading toward financial ruin, the current Makeup of Congress is one where seriousness regarding our fiscal trajectory is not where it needs to be.

It is an honor to introduce the Expedited Transparency Act, which will update late-Senator Coburn’s Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act to require that all disbursements of federal taxpayer dollars be viewable on USASpending.gov within three days. This means that whenever appropriated monies are spent, the agencies will be required to make this disbursement public within three days. Currently, it takes weeks for these disbursements to be made public, furthering the divide between taxpayers and transparency. It is essential that we require rapid transparency, as the longer the delay between disbursement and reporting, the harder it is to demand accountability. Agencies will always seek ways to hide their spending, as evidenced by the major discrepancy in agency reporting: some report in a matter of weeks, some in six months, and some not at all. There must be transparency and accountability, not excuses and delays!! By introducing the Expedited Transparency Act, we are advancing the transparency initiative Dr. Coburn championed with the original measure. I want to thank John Hart, CEO of Open the Books, for allowing us to work on this initiative with him. John was the Communications Director for Dr. Coburn when this initiative was originally passed.

A potentially landmark government transparency bill is being introduced today by a bipartisan coalition of Members of the House of Representatives. Here's my exclusive report: washingtonstand.com/article/sunshi…

I urge my colleagues in the Senate to pass the @HouseGOP bill to reopen @DHSgov and fund @TSA.
House Homeland GOP@HomelandGOP

Today, @TSA workers will miss their first full paycheck since the Democrat shutdown began on February 14th. Missed pay is forcing frontline DHS personnel to make tough decisions to pay the bills and put food on their tables. Losing dedicated & experienced Transportation Security Officers doesn't just mean longer security lines today, it could mean weaker transportation security later. Democrats need to end this shutdown.

There is no excuse for states failing to screen non-domiciled CDL recipients properly. According to @USDOT audits: - 1 in 5 non-domiciled CDLs in Illinois failed to meet federal standards; - over 17,000 non-domiciled CDLs were illegally issued in California; and, - over 50% of non-domiciled CDLs issued in New York violated federal law.

“These individuals were unfit to hold that credential and, if states would follow through with standards and laws, would not qualify to receive one. The human cost of these failures is painful.” WATCH: Subcommittee Chairman @RepBrecheen delivers opening remarks at today’s hearing on the issuance of non-domiciled commercial driver licenses to illegal aliens, sounding the alarm on associated risks to public safety:
