The Hormuz Letter
The Hormuz Letter@HormuzLetter·
NEW: Iran has directly denied Trump's claim that it agreed to hand over its enriched uranium, with a source close to Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf saying "no form of nuclear material transfer to America has been negotiated." A second Iranian source called it "another lie," adding that "no major progress has been made" and that continuation of talks is contingent on "compliance with all of Iran's conditions."

BREAKING: The US is expanding its Iran blockade worldwide, no longer limited to Iranian ports, with Naval Forces Central Command saying US sanctioned vessels and those suspected of carrying banned goods are now "subject to visit, board, search, and seizure" regardless of location, per WSJ. Petroleum products and lubricants have been classified as seizable "conditional contraband" due to their role in Iran's war-sustaining economy.

BREAKING: Leaders of Gulf and European countries believe that a peace deal between the US and Iran will take six months to be reached, per Bloomberg. Details include: 1. Gulf and European leaders are urging the US and Iran to extend their ceasefire to cover that timeframe 2. Leaders want the Strait of Hormuz opened immediately and are warning in private that a "global food crisis" may develop if that does not happen by next month 3. Gulf states believe Iran is looking to build a nuclear weapon and that has not changed amid the Iran War 4. Thus, they think a peace deal should ban Iran from enriching uranium or having long-range ballistic missiles Gulf leaders are "mostly against" resuming fighting.

"The idea that the government is “spending taxpayers’ money” is one of the biggest myths ever sold. It sounds intuitive, it sounds responsible, and it is completely false"
Ashish Barua/आशिष बरूआ #MMT (INDIA) 🍉@barua_ashish

You will never catch Milton Friedman explaining how monetary operations actually work between a central bank and its own government, because once you understand that reality, the entire mainstream narrative collapses. What we’ve been fed for decades is nothing short of economic gaslighting in broad daylight. The idea that the government is “spending taxpayers’ money” is one of the biggest myths ever sold. It sounds intuitive, it sounds responsible, and it is completely false. A sovereign government does not spend your money. It does not wait around for taxes or borrowings to “fund” itself. That’s not how modern monetary systems operate. Government spending comes first; it is created through keystrokes, through the coordinated operations of the treasury and the central bank. Taxes and bonds come later, serving entirely different purposes: managing demand, controlling inflation, maintaining interest rate targets, not financing spending. So let’s be absolutely clear: The government is not a household. It is not constrained like you or me. And it does not spend someone else’s money. Repeating that lie over and over doesn’t make it true; it just keeps people confused while bad policy continues. #LearnMMT

Milton Friedman Quotes@MiltonFriedmanW

Milton Friedman explains why government spending is so wasteful: “There’s an enormous difference between the benefits people get from government spending and the benefits people get when they spend their own money.” “That difference derives from the fact that government is always spending somebody else’s money.”
