Jensen Huang also revealed that NVIDIA plans to hire another 3,000 employees. Given such massive talent demand, he said it “does not make sense” for employees to look for new opportunities outside the company. NVIDIA encouraged employees interested in internal transfers to be patient, explore more internal openings, and actively communicate with their direct managers. Huang also highlighted Taiwan’s development environment. NVIDIA noted that Taiwan has one of the world’s most dynamic technology ecosystems, and NVIDIA’s operations in Taiwan already cover nearly all of its core businesses, including chip design, software engineering, robotics engineering, artificial intelligence, systems, and research. Whether employees hope to work with the supply chain, collaborate with local developers, or engage with Taiwan’s many AI startups, NVIDIA’s Taiwan office offers abundant opportunities. Employees should be able to find a stage within the company where they can fully apply their strengths.

Nvidia’s first big batch of Rubin chips will finish (final packaging) in July-August and start being delivered to system assembly partners, media report, citing unnamed supply chain sources. TSMC began manufacturing the initial batch in late-March-early April, reaching monthly wafer starts of 40-50,000wpm in the 2nd quarter, and expects to be in mass production in the 3rd quarter. The cycle time from wafer start to final CoWoS package is about 4-months. $NVDA $TSM $ASX #KYEC #SPIL #Unimicron #Kinsus #Winway #MPI investor.com.tw/onlineNews/New…

Okay, $NVDA clearly needs to find a bottom here. Could see it flushing to $210 today or tomorrow. Just amazing. It’s only seeing sellers since earnings.

@insane_analyst SKhynix, but buy the U.S. listing because market much bigger and liquid. TSMC stock in U.S. trades at big premium to Taiwan stock for this reason.

UBS on $MU: Our supply chain work on Long Term Agreements (LTAs) across the memory industry suggests that up to 30% of DDR volumes industry-wide will be soon locked in at pricing that is just slightly below current levels we now expect the DRAM industry to remain undersupplied until at least C2Q28 (vs. 4Q27 prior), and NAND undersupply to last until 4Q27 (was 3Q27). At this point, we believe hyperscalers alone to have currently secured ~60-70% of the industry Server DDR5 volumes under 'enhanced' LTAs - in other words, guaranteeing MU and others offtake for this volum Even more important, this scenario yields MU EPS of >$100 even out in C2029E when we do believe DRAM pricing will undergo a fairly significant correction. In other words, we think MU still earns >$100 even if pricing for the floating portion of DDR declines by ~50%.

Win Semi (3105) is almost never mentioned in photonics analyst reports. But they’ll probably show up as an important bottleneck for scaling lasers next year. Glad to see Shunsin (6451) start picking up steam from my TW longs. Foci (3363), MSSCorp (6830) should start getting some attention too imo after Computex / $NVDA conference next month. Nextronics (8147), I personally kinda expect to 3x down the road.. once disposition is over. 5 of my favorite CPO exposure longs over in Taiwan, especially at current prices.

Chinas Huawei can't access EUV. So they wrote their own scaling law. The leverage of US export controls erodes. Huawei just presented the Tau (τ) Scaling Law at IEEE ISCAS, a framework that replaces geometric transistor scaling with time-based optimization across devices, circuits, chips, and systems. Huawei is not trying to win the nanometer race anymore. They're redefining it. 381 chips designed and mass-produced over six years. Kirin chips with their new LogicFolding architecture ship this fall. Target by 2031: transistor density equivalent to 1.4nm processes - without EUV (ASML embargo still hits hard) Whether Tau Scaling delivers on that promise remains to be seen. But it shows one thing: US export controls cut Huawei off from cutting-edge lithography, and instead of hitting a wall, they built a parallel road. China's semiconductor independence isn't hypothetical anymore. It's shipping in phones, running AI workloads, and now has its own scaling law presented at one of the world's top circuit design conferences. If Huawei can close the performance gap through architecture instead of lithography, the entire leverage of US export controls erodes. The sanctions were designed to keep China two generations behind. Huawei is trying to make that metric irrelevant. h/t @AndrewCurran_ for finding this interesting blogarticle and @zephyr_z9 for the photo

Huawei says it has made a breakthrough and expects to design high-end chips with transistor density equivalent to 1.4 nm processes by 2031.
