New Cross was the nearest station to my old school. It is the station for Millwall FC. It feeds into The Old Kent Road - always the cheapest site on Monopoly. I don't recall there was ever a time when people said, "Ah, let's go for a lovely stroll around New Cross."

Ha! I’ve just been refused entry onto a plane from Stansted to Bologna because my passport issue date is March 2016. The expiry date is August 2026 but the rule is 10 years from issue date. Another Brexit benefit. Apparently. Go home now.

Last night I walked into a quiet little village pub. Just low beams, old carpet and a bloke in the corner who’s probably been sat on the same stool since 1998. I ordered a pint, nine quid, got the missus a large wine. Fifteen quid for two drinks. I just stood there for a second like I’d accidentally ordered shares in the building. I remember being 20 and getting pints for £2.50. The economy is so cooked we’re paying luxury prices for nostalgia.

@jonburkeUK I sometimes put the gas hob on to warm up whilst the central heating warns up. Especially when people like you insist I’m doing wrong. My house, my choice.

Away on holiday and the hob is gas. The amount of waste heat this thing produces is ridiculous. We’ve be cooking on an induction hob for over half a decade. It’s clean, cheap to install and maintain, fast, emission free, and won’t blow the house up. Switch as soon as you can.
