While Americans congratulate themselves for saving Europe with Lend-Lease, they conveniently forget the industrial miracle that actually won WWII. The USSR evacuated 2,743 factories and 20 million people in under a year, and those relocated plants produced 90–96% of everything that defeated Nazi Germany. Bet you never heard that version in school. At the start of the war, the USSR had no solid plan for mass evacuation. Only on the 3rd day of the Nazi invasion in 1941, the Soviet leadership set up the Council for Evacuation. @LndamyDark Just an FYI in South Carolina everything east of I-95 is called the ‘Low Country’. Sounds charming but don’t let the name fool you. It’s just a charming name used to attract tourists in reality it’s a Swamp Country notorious for its stagnant air & ungodly heat and humidity.

We're looking to relocate to South or North Carolina. It appears every house I look at down there has paneling. I thought paneling went out in the '70s. Is this truly a thing down south?

@pureMetatron I don’t recall the words Orient or Oriental ever used by anyone in a derogatory manner. I read it was first used by the Romans.

We’ve never stopped using it in romance languages. There is nothing wrong with the term in Italian, Spanish, French etc and is used in academic publications too. I’ve always wondered how in English it has supposedly become this frowned upon “racist” term. Did people in America really use it in a disparaging way? For me, in my language, the term orientale is not just neutral, but it comes with a small nuance of mystery, exotic and cool, whether you use it to describe an object, a concept or a person from East Asia.

Instead of hating SNAP recipients and their nutritional choices, how about hating a system where hard work isn't enough to live on anymore It hasn't only devalued our dollar. It devalues our labor - and they steal a significant chunk of that too ✌️

Take several 100 or more RAW lucky images at 1/60 -1/100 ISO 100. Then filter and stack the images using a free program like AutoStakkert or Deepskyimaging for crisp detailed photos. Then if you’re hooked you can bring out the true colors of the moon with another free program called GIMP.

@JayOfAllTrades Try to use a tripod and use remote shutter if your camera has Bluetooth that helps a lot with mitigating micro jitters. If your camera has stacking try that too!

I took 50 pictures of the Moon last night and none of them were great. The Moon definitely did its job - beautiful! I got a new 18-300 mm lens that just couldn't make it happen (user error, I'm sure). I will try again tonight. 🌕🌕🌕🙏🙏🙏

What war? The U.S. stopped attacking Iran awhile back and both are attempting negotiations. Problem is Iran’s political leadership is now dividing into different factions so it’s kinda hard to know who’s really in charge over there right now. In the meantime the blockade continues.
