@TheMonologist The Carbon meat truck camera shot is fantastic. I was told they had the steadicam operator on a forklift, trucked it forward then he stepped off so he could walk in to the meat truck.

Write this down: If you choose to be part of a team… showing up as less than your best is selfish. Your standard impacts everyone else. When you don’t bring your best, you lower the ceiling for the whole room. Lead accordingly.

Remember when Derek Redmond’s dad put fatherhood on display before the entire world when his son tore his hamstring during the Olympics? In the 1992 Olympics, Derek Redmond started his heat like any other runner… But then his hamstring tore. He fell, limped, and pain took over. As doctors and officials rushed in to stop him, something else happened: His father ran onto the track, embraced him, and said, “Let’s finish.” That embrace changed everything. That moment wasn’t about a medal. It was about perseverance, dignity, and the unbreakable bond between a father and son. When Derek stood back up… he didn’t just run, he walked his way across the finish line, helped by his dad. Tears. Strength. Defiance. Hope. This is proof that sometimes the greatest achievements aren’t won by speed, but by heart. Because life isn’t just about how fast you run. It’s about who helps you when you can’t run anymore.

Wisdom from a man who was coming to terms with his own mortality. Take the 2 minutes and 50 seconds to watch this. Incredible. What a great human being.

@nut_history Respectfully disagree. The fact that he did not say anything to either manager before the game started, or give Syndergaard a warning was WRONG! If his “ass was in the jackpot” and “knew the situation” then he should have said that before the game started!!

Can’t believe the “conversation” between Mets Manager Terry Collins and Umpire Tom Hallion is already ten years old. I gotta give that umpire his credit to his profession. Listening and not losing his cool, understanding the situation and emotions flowing high. MLB needs more of this. “Listen to me, let me hear what I’m saying” is also an all-time classic.

Fun Fact: When Punch-Out!! first came out for the NES (1987), Mike Tyson was asked if he was able to beat himself in the game. He responded that he couldn't even get past Glass Joe. So remember, whenever you laugh at Joe's 1-99 record, the one person Glass Joe beat was Mike Tyson. Whether that myth is true or not, I don't know, but one thing is for sure - this was one of the most fun games I ever played. There are a few iconic games for the NES, and to me Punch Out!! is one of those. It was the classic "Ah, one more try" type of game, trying to reach that next level and ultimately fighting against Mike Tyson. Though a single-player game, this was the most fun when you had your friends around and everyone "being in your corner" cheering you on to get the T(KO). Good times!

Before you complain about their attitude, check your attitude. Before you complain about their effort, check your effort. Before you complain about their leadership, check your leadership. You wouldn't allow excuses for them, don't make excuses for yourself. Live the standard.
