I was honoured to present at the SLD Summit, sharing insights into the fascinating world of mitochondria. ☺️A huge thank you to the organisers and attendees. 🤩I am excited for the future of research in this field and the upcoming studies with my MitoMed lab @Inst_of_Liver!

The lecture by Elena Palma at #SLDSummit highlighted the need for deeper understanding of mitochondrial dynamics, their role in disease progression, and the development of targeted therapies, such as those enhancing mitophagy and biogenesis. Future research should focus on refining experimental models, characterising new disease subtypes like metALD, and exploring phenomena like mega-mitochondria and subpopulations of mitochondria with distinct functions. ✨Advancing these insights may provide therapeutic breakthroughs and improve the management of SLD.
